Tmac and Yao both playing crazy minutes right now. I thought our bench was deep this year. oh well, we will see.
Rafer Alston has no business playing for a contender. I'm sure Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Barbosa, Tony Parker, and Deron Williams can't wait to see Rafer in the playoffs. Every possession will involve Alston getting beaten to the hole for either a layup, foul, or a wide open jump shot for somebody else. Hopefully, he will be off the team by then via a trade. If not, hopefully he has been phased out of the rotation. This has to be done gradually in order to avoid a mental breakdown on the part of Skip (who has shown that he is mentally weak both on and off the court) that could come as a distraction to the team. If that happens though, he should be released. The Rockets' chances to win a championship will go up if he does not play.
if we r trying to trade Rafer, then obviously we are messing up his trade value cos he's getting worse and worse every game. Unless Rafer is actually playing bad on purpose so as not to get traded, in which case, he is a smart as*
let's worship Rafer for leading us to 5-1. 26 min, 6.7 points, 4.3 assists, on 31% shooting. his clutch, accurate, spot up 3-pointer shooting is 20%, what a shooter, what a starter. Is there any other starting PG worse than Rafer?
That sounds EXACTLY like the plethora of "we are 52-30 with Rafer starting why complain?" posts. BECAUSE the team lost in the playoffs and Rafer was absolutely HORRIBLE. In the west playoffs against good teams when players are playing FULL ON with all out effort this scrub is totally exposed. Not to mention he has the most air balls on wide open shots of any player I have ever seen in the NBA during the regular season. Yeah, indeed why complain at all about 3 years going on now of this joke as our starting point guard?
hey is anyone else tired of seeing building a house with all the bricks he throws up or is it just me?
Man that's ridiculous I'm sure if he had 10 open 3s in a row we wouln't be afraid to take them. His confidence shocks me
I think the concept of Rafe is pretty simple...a true point guard. Now let me elaborate. In Adelman's past years at Sac town when asked what plays he called for his highly potent offense to run at crucial times he would say none. He would only count on PG Mike Bibby to get them in there sets and exacute as he saw fit. Now IMO thats calls for a pg with a high BB IQ, almost a pg with a quarter backs ability to change plays at the line when a blitz is coming if you will. Now with SF3 and James, who pretty much will dribble all the air out of the ball when conducting an offense, it's seems only fit to have a pass first minded player at the point. I think Adelman thinks skip is the only one who can shoulder the load of his motion offense, with all the off ball movment, and cutting a pg would see...Rafe is the perfect fit.Not to mention he does play more D than SF3 and James. So when Skip does foul up a little bit lets not be so quick to act like a buch of gemoligist...Just inspect the flaws, and not even try to see the shine.
I have been saying this for over two years: Rafer can't shoot. But apparently NBA coaches who are experts on basketball can't see this. Only fans on sports boards are able to discern the deficiency. This is a great mystery.
Probably not. As far as contenders/elite teams go, definitely not. Last year, the only one that came really close was Smush Parker. However, he was benched in the playoffs in favor of a rookie and hasn't played a single minute this season in Miami. It really says a lot about how poor a player Rafer is when the Miami Heat would rather have Smush Parker as opposed to giving up a little more and receiving Rafer Alston. Also, those on this board who think that Rafer is somehow a better player than Steve Francis are out of their minds.
