It's hardly all JVG's fault for Bonzi not being the contributor last season, as he is this season. Bonzi came in fat and out of shape, took time away from the team, had a groin injury, and didn't seem to give a hoot early in the season.
It's possible that Bonzi had a bad taste in his mouth about playing for peanuts vs. the money he passed up. I believe, at some point last season, he had said that the rockets were going to get what they payed for,

I think this being a "contract year" for Bonzi has a bit to do with his condition right now.

    Just bashing JVG is silly.

I just caught me today mumbling "I love Bonzi"... I was kinda shocked... well he is the difference maker for us in the last two games. If he can keep this pace we have a great 3d scorer and a great rebounder... other teams will be having serious match up problems with a line up of James - Bonzi - T-Mac - Scola - Yao.

6th man of the year? I doubt it... Terry is playing great, so is Ginobili and Barbosa. But he will be a huge asset to us!

Someone please photoshop Bonzi into a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle body! He reminds me of Rafael if he would pull down his red headband to cover his eyes!

You and every sane man, buddy. Nary a Bonzi play occurs before my friends and I are already spouting off comments about his superior ninja abilities, skill with the sai, or ability to derive much strength from a slice of pizza. The Rockets admin needs to get on this and have Bonzi Wells Ninja Turtle Bobblehead Night accompanied by a halftime show in which Bonzi must remove as many bells as he can from a mannequin before the smoke clears.

BONZI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Dude got game. JVG has too short of a leash. Should have at least given the guy a chance to play into shape considering how offensively impotent last year outside of Tmac and Yao.

Honestly i never thought Bonzi would be playing like this ever again(at least not in a couple of season from 2006-2007) from what i saw last season.

But damn he's really a hell of a player, and a great hand giving the Rox a boost towards the championship. keep it up bonz, good job.

yup. especially after he has said that it was more about him than anyone else. The dude was certifiable last season. I don't know what his problem was, but he had some serious mental issues going on. I guess throwing away 35 Mill to only sign for a couple million $ contract can really mess with ones head

It seems to me that Bonzi is REALLY flourishing in Adelman's system. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time to get off a good shot. Makes me wonder just how awesome our offense can be when all our players can execute this offense well.

However, Bonzi's rebounding is really surprising me. I know I barely watched him before he became a Rocket, but I never realized he's this good on the boards.

im not sure how much is really the "system" or just him trying. He does have a knack at operating in the mid range on offense.

rebounding and defense, he also has some good anticipation and he is also a deceptive rebounder...he has that big body and great timing

Neither do I. But he seems to be moving the best among our players within the offense. The guy gets a lot of good looks, and all his shots seems to be within the flow of the offense.

Of course, as you said, it could just be the fact that he's actually bothered to be serious out there rather than just loafing around. Either way is fine with me. :D :D

very true. some guys just work well without the ball and operate well in congested areas. He's has always had that talent, when he wants to use it.

    but keep it up!
