I thought we were going to get Thabo Sefolosha if the Grizz weren't willing to trade Battier to us Anyway who cares about Swift. I'm still on the fence about Battier vs Gay as I still see it as a short-term vs long-term thing. I personally think winning it all in within the next two or three years should end the argument OR if Battier continues to flounder in the playoffs and Gay becomes a good to great player (not necessarily a star) on a playoff team.
Maybe Mike James but that is pushing it due to James' age. Definitely not Alston. Would be great to see them do a Francis/Gay swap since it looks like Adelman is never going to play Francis. But why in the world would the Grizzlies offer Rudy in the first place? That's wishful thinking there, buddy.
Not that it means wins, but they got some serious athleticism over in Memphis when they have a frontline of Rudy Gay, Stromile, and Hakim Warrick
I can only say that Morey wasn't working for the Rockets then. Imagine what he could got for the #7 pick.
Wasn't there an arcade game called "Altered Beast," where these pathetic little guys would occasionally say "power up!" and get all beasted up? ... Well, yes indeed! So here's what I picture for Rudy Gay: He beasted up on the left there, but he's facing tinman's Rocket loyalty on the right I think.
Rudy had 31 points tonight on 13-24 shooting and 4-7 from 3. He will either be very good or great in this league.
Unbelievable. Now he's developing his consistency. How wonderful if only we could have a Gay now in our lineup? an SF/PF who can give you 20 points on any given night? As I said, I never appreciate Batteir that much just because of this trade. and now it pains me to watch Gay on his way to be an all star
Exactly right. To me Shane brings the same primary qualities that chuck does. Maybe on a larger scale, but the same qualities. The way we discovered chuck is how you acquire role players, definitely not by giving up future all-stars, thats how franchises end up in lottery for stretches of three to four years in a row
You can't just analyze these things without context. Even if the Rockets had drafted Gay, does anyone think he'd get a chance to fully develop his game in Houston? Rudy Gay was perfect for Memphis, who didn't care about winning and gave him the green light from the first day he got there. Can't we just drop this and leave it as a trade that benefited BOTH teams. Even if Gay were on the Rockets now, he wouldn't be utilized the same manner anyway. So why bother projecting? If Rudy Gay starts leading Memphis to the playoffs as their number one option, and the Rockets flounders in the 1st or 2nd round, then I'll concede that the trade was a huge mistake.
Yeah, agree with meh: I never understood how Gay would fit with T-Mac. That's in fact why several people were projecting that the Rox would not have drafted him if they kept that pick. But I'm happy for Rudy G. Keep on, um, beasting them up.
Same here, though it is a fitting description for 'Scott Howard' Anyone who dares face the might of his Rockets Loyalty: http://welcomedoom.ytmnd.com/
