Naw buddy, not an excuse....a legit reason for why you are not going to get nearly as much as you're praying for when NVE finally succeeds in getting the hell out of Pepsiland.....everyone knows by the end of the season his shooting percentage will have averaged back down to 42-43% where it should be. No team is gonna trade you that much for him. In fact, as desperate as some of us Rox fans on the board here are to actually propose parting w/ Mobley simply b/c the team is in some bad shape, EVERYBODY knows RT and CD would never trade Mobley for NVE of all players straight up.

Naw buddy, I'm being sincere and serious.....even you gotta admit it will be difficult to work a trade for a $77M point guard w/ chronic knee problems and chronic behavior problems.

At least Van Exel has 3 more years left on his contract - guaranteed. Francis hasn't signed an extension yet - therefore not guaranteed. He may walk after our dismal season.

Looking at Mobley v. Exel..hard to compare..they play 2 diff positions. Would you compare John Stockton to Wally Schzerbiak.
Exel scores and gets assists (not too many boards if any). Mobley scores, boards, steals, and gets a few assists. Their dimensions as players are different. Hence this comparison is invalid.

Why does everyone wants or thinks Francis is a 2, including Rudy? If Rudy stops beleiveng that himself, maybe Francis will become more of a point guard, but everytime he brings in Norris, he slides Steve over to the 2 instead of bringing in Torres. Personally, i think Mobley should play more point when steve goes out and bring Torres in to play the 2 instead of Moochie. Rudy and everyone needs to kill the idea thta Francis can and would be like Iverson because he's better for this team with Mobley in the backcourt. Our problem lie at the most atheletic position which has turned to be pitiful and thats the 3 spot.

True, we haven't had a solid 3 since the Rodney Mac days. Damn I miss those days.

Hey, what's wrong with Stoudamire's numbers? He's averaging about 8-8.5 assists per game with the best assist-to-turnover ratio in the league (up around 6). There aren't too many true pass-first PGs in the league these days... :p ;)
