I have a car that was totally screwed by the flood, and I want to sell the parts now. I tried fixing it, but the engine is a total loss. I thought about selling small, packageable stuff like the radio, rims, and grille on ebay. But what about the big heavy duty stuff? All the junk yards places seem like a total rip off. One place offered me 10 bucks for it. What a joke. It's an 84' Volvo 240. Does anyone have suggestions on how to sell parts or maybe a good place to take it to that will give me something reasonable?
E-bay is the only way, or take it to one of the 5 million salvage places in the greater Houston area. They might give you a few bucks.

Alloy rims. $5,000 OBO</i> Then, when everybody comes out and sees what care you really have, just say, "Well, while you're here, do ya want an alternator from an '84 Volvo?"
Donating it to one of those tax-deductable places and going through the motions of manual deductions will net you more value than any other method. They usualy give you incredibly overvalued estimates for their reciepts. Add to that, you'll be helping someone in need, and I'd say that that's the way to go. I've done it twice, and they make it as easy as possible. The only thing is waiting for the payoff until next year's tax return as well as making sure you can take advantage of it.
I may be interested in buying the whole car, depending on the price of course. Let me know what type of price range you'd let it go for.
