Are there better QB's than Mcnabb? Certainly.

Is McNabb getting a break because of his race? I have a hard time seeing that. If people where so sensitive about criticizing a black quarterback then why aren't people saying Daunte Culpepper is a great QB?

well I started this thread to see what ya'll thought of the way the media (imo) has been soft on him. I think some of the reason is they are afraid to go after a black qb since back in the day folks were racist towards black qb's.

No lil Pun I'm not reaching I keep having to defend myself when folks like yourself stray off topic by pointing out he is not performing up to his contract (that's why he is done after this season in Phili) or that he has show the inability to "win the big games" at times.

I think he should be feeling more heat but because of what he said on Real Sports that is all.

this thread and lil pun's first post back on the first day proves my point that folks are so sensative when race is brought up.

He does get a free pass because the media knows that if the criticize him, he will pull the race card

If he's getting a free pass I think it's because the media seems him as a reasonable guy, generally. A guy they like. I don't think it has to do with skin color.

I'm not sure how he's being given a free pass by the media. He's probably the most discussed QB in the NFL outside of Manning and Brady. And it's not just a bunch of people saying "oh, look how great McNabb is". If anything, he's more scrutinized than your average top-flight QBs (Brees, Palmer, etc).

Favre is looking better this year because the Packers defense and receivers are better then in years past.

McNabb is suffering from the fact that his receivers are average by NFL standards. McNabb may have lost a little mobility and is possibly still not 100% recovered from his injury, but I wouldn't blame all of the Eagles whoas on him.

On the other hand, I'd love to see Kevin Karl at QB.

With a free pass, will he pass more freely?

An anxious public wants to know. :)

Pretty sure undrafted Rose Bowl Winner Warren Moon, Doug Williams, the late Joe Gilliam and common sense would disagree with you. I'll bet his Super Bowl free pass was due to the unwavering assholiness of Terrell Owens. But I missed his comments, what did he say?

He played like a elite level QB in one year. The year was 2004, when he had T.O. at the peak of his career.

In the last 6 years he has started 16 games ONCE. Passed for 3K yards twice. Had a passer rating over 86 only twice.

The biggest factors for a QB is winning and to a lesser extent stats. He has none of these.

I think its pretty obvious if you say he is bad that you are an obvious racist, and will be fired of you TV job. Proof is in this very thread.

I had McNabb last season and he was the BEST quarterback in the league, until he got injured.

Weird. I always thought making the Superbowl once and 3 other NFC Title games - and being the only consistent dominant team in the NFC over that period - qualified as a lot of winning. Certainly more than 90% of other QBs.

I think it's the complete opposite. No quarterback gets shat upon more often than Donovan Mcnabb.

Are you actually saying no one has ever criticized McNabb, or are you just joking?

McNabb and free pass don't belong in the same sentence. He was booed when he was drafted and he has had haters in Philly his whole career, especially now when they want his head on a platter. Sports Radio 610 is almost impossible to listen to nowadays.
