Anounce that all the old green papers are expired and start to print some new green papers? That is a good plan! ;)

Actually a too strong CAD isn't good for Canadian economy either. Remember, Canadian population is 30+ millions only, they need to export, export, and export more.

It's not just the cdn dollar though.

The Euro and Ausie dollars have also gained significantly against the greenback. It's like y'all just took a 25% paycut and asset forfeiture this last year. I guess...short term...it's 'good' for corporate america. Too bad about the people.

We could take britain's lead and declare all debts null and void. This would render China's "nuclear option" a firecracker.

China could never do that though. Unless they want to get paid 25 cents on the dollar for their exports (literally)

I think it is a little late or a little premature or both to talk about backing currency with gold.

We are at the point where we have to get the debt stopped, under some reasonalbe intelligent control. As it is now 90% of Americans have no idea how the debt will affect their future, how much is leveraged in derivitive instruments and how future spending is crushing any hope for a fair market dollar.
