http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3580&Itemid=99 Wonder how they plan to do Orcko?
I hope that Transformers isn't going to start a run of live action 80's cartoon movies. Odds are that they will mess up a majority of them.
The hell with Dolph! They'll ruin the legend of Billy Barty! On a slightly more serious note, a live-action He-Man movie could be halfway decent if it was made by a filmmaker and studio who gave a crap and had an actual budget. Eternia and characters like Orko could be achieved now that there's CGI at their disposal. But don't get me started on other 80's properties being butchered on the big screen. What Paramount is planning with G.I. Joe is borderline offensive.
the live-action movie was comical the cartoon was part of my childhood also. i would be torn really about this one. it would be hard to visualize man of arms and teela (ok her not so much) but would skeletor be purely cg? he-man riding battlecat is hard to picture in a live-action deal.
Just read the IMDB plot outline. They are going to make G.I. Joe a European based international SPEC OPS force? They should be arrested for this.
did anyone catch the he-man cartoon remakes that cmae out a few years ago, they were plenty awesome, the story lines stayed very much the same, and the artwork was vintage, i wished thy would have kept up with those and transformers armamda
I did actually, the recent attempt to relaunch He man was actually pretty good and had some more cohrent story lines, problem was kids didn't care and the show couldn't support the toy line and it ended up canceled
Only a matter of time before Thundercats! Not sure about a He-Man remake...Dolph set the bar pretty high. Orko? Chris tucker
I saw it didn't like it. The animation looked Korean which I'm not a fan of (think early Simpsons wth the spiky look). The video in the article somehow made me think of the Flash Gordon movie the one with the Queen soundtrack.
Not exactly, I'm not expecting them to make a good movie, but they have slowly drifted to at least making it more like GI Joe. The first script review I saw had the movie being mostly a team up between Duke and some other toy/cartoon called Action Man with other Joes like Snake Eyes and Scarlett having supporting roles. Since then, they've hired a new writer and 2 guys to do some polishing before the strike started. Unfortunately, the director for this is freaking Stephen "the mummy and van helsing" Sommers. You can bet that at some point Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are going to have a fight that involves them swinging around on ropes or cables (this kind of silliness happened multiple times in van hellsing). Even if the script is good, I can't trust this guy to make a really good movie. Anyways, as it stands now, GI Joe is based out the US from their base, the PIT. The team will be international, I guess they'll use guys like Big Ben and Red Star or Big Bear. Destro and Baroness will be the main villains, but Cobra Commander will be like emperor Palpatine in the original star wars. The Dreadnoks will be mercenaries hired by Cobra. The Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow story arc will be front and center in the movie, like the heart of the film.
