it will be funny in the future when your kid asks you how you came up with her name.... "uhhhhh a bunch of basketball nerds named you"
Audrey Brianna Chloe Elaina Elise Faith Grace Hope Katherine Lauren Leah Madeline Mackenzie 2 of these are my daughters 1st and 2nd names.
Out of all those names, the only one I really like a lot is Madeline. That's a great name. I don't like Morgan, Reily, and especially Haley. Please don't choose Haley. The world doesn't need another Haley.
Well maybe we can covert some of these to girl names: Hakeema Clyda Cynthia and Sheryl don't really matter. And also Tracy, it's already a girl name.
I think it's funny that some of us thought our kids' names sounded kinda new, yet they're the john/david/susan/lisa of this day. Aiden is 30th now, which was as common as Larry or Denise in my birthyear. Four years ago, named our son Caden, but once you're finished merging it with Kaden, Kayden and Cayden or the rhyming Aiden, Hayden, Jaden, and Jayden, it's probably close to number 1. I often wonder if this generation views some of the names from my generation like I view Gertrude, Florence or Mildred. Interesting to note that for decades many of the top boys names have been biblical: Michael, David, John, James were tops in my birthyear; Jacob, Michael, Joshua, Ethan, Matthew, Daniel last year.
Trying to be constructive here, Mr. Miller : Madeline - too "old"... sounds like a name from the 1800's Annelise - too long... choose this if you have a short nickname like "Annie" or "Leese" Morgan - sounds too unisex... like Morgan Fairchild / Morgan Ensberg (there you go, Meggo) Haley - what is she, a comet? Sounds unisex, but means "HEROINE" in Scandinavian countries. Riley - "Don't let'em break you down! Don't let'em break you down!" - Pat Leila - easy on the tongue, easy on the writing, easy on the last name: "Leila Miller" sounds like it goes together Lily - alternate to Leila, this one sounds like she's a flower. Pick it if that's what you think she looks like or will resemble in the future. Does that sound like it makes sense?
I like the idea of coming here for advice! Agree that Madeline is nice, BUT I know so, so many little kids, babies, and pets with that name this year. (Maybe it's just big in California).
just do the pornstar/stripper test with the names. Add the word Montana as a last name and pick the one that sounds the least whorish. Madeline Montana Annelise Montana Morgan Montana Haley Montana Riley Montana Leila Montana Lily Montana I'll go with Lily Montana as least whorish.
