What, man are you 11 years old. Illusionist was barely a decent movie. You knew what was going to happen in the first 10 minutes.

Great film - Bale is one of my favorite acotors, quite possibly the best of the bunch that is around my age.
Hugh is good....really grown on me over time.
    M.Caine is superb as always.
Bowie is at first glance almost unnoticable as Tesla but nails the part.

There are numerous heart wrenching moments in this multilayered film.

This flick can be watched multiple times while one gets the perspective from the other brother among many things.(and it's on all the time so that's easy to do)

On a side note...Up in Tahoe I've been fortunate enough to play cards with Ricky Jay...the magician, actor, and pro card player that has appeared in House of Games in addition to this and many other films....very interesting guy..lots of fun.

Anyway...Jam on this film more than once.

I also really like this movie and have watched it on DVD like a billion times. I was familiar with the historical Tesla beforehand so I was ready to accept that he could build such a machine. The machinery was indeed used to make a powerful statement about Angier so I didn't find it a silly contrivance.

I figured out "The Professor's" secret pretty early on but it didn't detract from the film's quality. Also, anytime a movie just throws Scarlet Johanssen in there just for a little spice, that movie is a ****ing awesome movie.

I agree, this movie was great! But I didn't know that Tesla was a real person. I've gotta go Wiki his name and read up on him now.

I remember being really, really impressed with the Prestige when I saw it. Definitely should have won an Oscar.

Great movie, one of my favorites.

If Christopher Nolan is directing you can't expect anything less than greatness.

I loved that movie House of Games. I used to do that trick on people where they put a coin in one of their hands behind their back, and then I'm able to guess which hand it's in by looking at their nose.

Anybody know that trick? You look at their nose, and it points slightly to the hand its in. Don't know the reason why, but try it on somebody, it works.

The professor had a secret? What secret??

Thanks to this thread, I watched the movie and agree that it was awesome. Another thanks to this thread, I learned about Nikola Tesla. Edison gets a lot of praise, but this man should get his share. He invented AC!!
