2 wins were against Sacramento and Portland. 2 others were quality wins. They have a cake schedule this month, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lead our division up through December 1. Peja and Jackson, though, are a lock for injuries, though, so we'll see how they hold up. Their bench is OK.
OT: Mobley scored 33 points "I told the referees the first game, I've told y'all, I'll tell everyone I'm going back to my first five years," said Mobley. "I'm just going back to my old aggressive self. I'm only 32."
I TOLD you guys this team would be decent in the summer, but most of you just wrote them off, saying they were "mediocre." I watched enough of them when they were up in OKC to know that, when healthy, this team is incredibly tough and well disciplined. They're not gonna go away anytime soon. Damn, Chi-town would love to take back getting rid of Chandler for Wallace about now...
D-will vs. CP3 who u got? i like d-will better coz he's chubby like sir charles BUT DAMN !@# 21 ASSISTS!
Be be be be be be ben wallace is playin worse than poop right now. I'll take Shawn Bradley outta retirement over him right now.
So what's the book on Hornets. Peja shoots lights out, Chris Paul splits people, Tyson a rebounding maching, West hits midrange, Bobby J brings bench energy, and the rest Hornets are no sloutch either. Why teams dont post Chris Paul up and attack him?
Hate to say it but they arent going to do much. Other than Chris paul they have ZERO consistency in them. Peja - Has had injuries and hasnt played like he did today for almost 3 years. West - Injury problems but could be consistent if he stayed healthy. Chandler - Good for no more than 10 points. Above average rebounder and shot blocker. Peterson - is solid but check out the other Sg's in the West (Tmac, Kobe, Manu, J Howard? Melo?) Jackson - Provides a spark but is old and not what he used to be. Again check the other 6th men in the West ( Bonzi/James, Manu, Jet) Rasual Butler/Melvin Ely - Ely got 0 minutes in SA last year EVEN though Elson was struggling. Butler is a solid shooter but wouldnt find a spot in the rotation on a contender. Armstrong - Good prospect, i like him, but he is young and inexperienced. They defiantly are not bad and their 3 best players are young (paul west chandler) but their 4-0 start doesnt mean much IMO. They may scrape into the playoffs but they wont make any noise. Defs not a 50+ team like on poster said.
Four 50+ win teams in the same division, has that ever happened before? Houston Dallas San Antonio New Orleans Barring a significant injury, I think they all get 50+ wins DD
No kidding. I said it then, but its worth repeating: That was an absolutely r****ded move by Chicago. Personally, I think that gi-normous conract they gave to big ben will be the proverbial "thorn in their side" that keeps them from any sort of success.
Right now, they're 5th in the NBA in FG% and 2nd in 3pt%. We'll have to see how they do when they cool off...
IF they cool off. Mo Pete, Peja, Butler, and West are all amazing shooters that have proven it for years. Tyson Chandler is going to take the easy shots and Chris Paul is only going to take the ones that are open. I think the team they have now is built to be very efficient, it's not a fluke. As to why Chris Paul isn't posted up: The Hornets have Chandler/Armstrong/Ely back guarding the rim, those are 3 very athletic and young big men who will challenge a lot of shots.
But you KNOW they'll have a significant injury. Peja, Chandler and Bobby Jackson? I'd bet money all three of those guys miss long stretches through out the season. I agree they have a solid team when healthy, but I don't think they have a very durable team and I'll be SHOCKED if they stay healthy for the whole season. Even still, I'd guess they'll get between 40 and 45 wins.
