if Bonzi is a major contributer and helps get us to the Western Conference Finals then I would offer him a two or three year deal, no more than about 5 mil per year.
Agreed!! I'm a fan of the inshape ready to play Bonzi!! All true Bonzi fans should make a pilgramage to Muncie, Indiana to get their genuine Ball State paraphernalia for Bonzi to sign at Rox games. I have my Ball State hat-actually it's my wife's.
Bonzi may be a SA-killer but that doesn't mean much for the other 29 teams in the league. I still think we have a coach finally who understands matchups and has it in him to do the right thing, namely play those players who do well against particular teams in particular situations. Towards the end of the game today he had all five players who scored over 9 points in the game, Yao-Tmac-Bonzi-James-Battier, right when we put the dagger on the game with Battier's version of the kiss-of-death. Immediately thereafter, he put in Rafer for James when it was apparent after two turnovers that we needed someone to walk the ball up the court and into Yao's hands, which thankfully is his particular skill! Ain't it great to have a coach that adjusts his offense based on what's actually happening in the game??? And no, sorry, Bonzi isn't going to be doing this every night.
Honestly bonzi looked like a young charles barkley tonight, don't expect him to end up with the rebound, but always came out of the pack with it outjumping or or outhustling everyone from ginobli to duncanh, it was amazing to watch.
BOF BFFs! Go apple, go orange, go bonzi. I am not intoxicated, contrary to what may follow this post.
I've already shaved my head and put a band-aid on top, go Bonzi! Regardless of what you guys think about Adelman and his system, it's a refreshing change that we have a coach now who doesn't hold grudges , put guys in the dog house if he does not like them.
A little off the topic, but: 1.Adleman's in-game-adjust abilities are way higher than JVG. 2.He seems to be the perfect successor for JVG. 3.and that's because JVG was a good foundation-builder. So i don't agree with anyone saying that it's all Gundy's fault that we didn't go further in the playoffs. Well, I don't agree with those who say that Gundy shoudn't leave either.
There is a certain radio show where I said before training camp that Bonzi was my dark horse team MVP. I did! Promise!!
He's certainly outplayed my expectations, but that's still what I want. Playing Bonzi Wells is like dating a stripper. She'll rock your world some nights, but you never know when she's going to flake out and not come home. She's certainly not marriage material.
We can wait till his stock rises high enough so that he'll decline a fat contract from somewhere else. Then we snab him with the league minimum, just like what we did last time.
reality check: its time for the JVG haters to let go of the past and focus on this new team. theres so much "I told you so" going on around here- theres more conversation about how bad JVG was than how good Adelman is...
