    One PG away from Championship

    Dear Coach A:
As a Rockets fan, I appreciate the way you play Yao. I also thank you for bringing Bonzi back. But for the ultimate goal, there is still a hole to be filled: Point Guard.
Rafer's defense is not going to bring us surprises. We've already seen enough. MJ is great coming out of bench. We need you bring back steve. After watching tonight's game, I just can not believe we did not play Bonzi in the playoff last year.
I just hope Steve is no last year's Bonzi. Thanks.

Trade for mike bibby, he knows the offense and he can shoot, i think he is the perfect pg for us

rafer + 1 round pick + bobby + filler for mike bibby

    Dear Coach A:

As a Rockets fan, I appreciate the way you don't actually read these threads and actually rely on your expertise when it comes to analyzing players. Thank you for sticking to your guns when it comes to not currently playing players that you feel will not add anything to our otherwise great record. Also, I'm so happy that you actually don't have a doghouse and would otherwise play whomever you feel would contribute positively to our win total regardless of personal vendettas. Thank you Coach A, your attention is greatly appreciated.

YEah bibby would be a great fit where we could actually beat the top scoring teams..pg position is definitely a weakness for us. But your proposal of sending rocket scrubs for the kings favorite player mike bibby? HOw is that a good trade for the kings?? LOL

I thought bobby was bought out? I would trade Rafer + Synder for Bibby but I don't think the salaries match up though.

Agreed. It's pretty simple - it's all about maximizing your talent. Francis is without a doubt more talented than Alston, yet he rides the bench. This is similar to last year's situation with Bonzi - JVG wasn't maximizing his talent by having a player of Bonzi's caliber on the bench. People arguing against Francis are probably using the same arguments as those who argued against Bonzi last year (who by the way, were completely wrong - we NEEDED that guy). Francis needs to be the starting PG, hands down - and only because James' offense is best suited off the bench, a la Ginobili.

    Dear ericmark,

Rafer did his job tonight. He stepped up in the fourth and helped the team avert another collapse. Adleman did a great job managing the rotation tonight, including the PG position.

P.S. Do you have two first names or did it take two people to make that half-witted post (meaning each of you only has 1/4 of a wit)?

Coach A sees Stevie play every time he practices.

SF has the opportunity to prove himself every practice session.

    first Vspan...
    now Stevie...

I wonder who rox fans will whine about next season?

    I say... play Aaron Brooks.

Golly, people who have to find a complaint... we just beat the world champs soundly, with the league's scoring leader having an off night, during a back-to-back, and Bonzi had 14 points and 15 boards. We're 4-1. Yet you have to find something wrong.

Geez. Heaven forbid we should be happy to have an excellent and potentially great team, with depth that is just killin' the opposition. That we have a new coach who actually coaches differently than the old coach and is a winner. That we snagged Europe's best player outside of the NBA from the world champs for peanuts. That we got back Mike James, who we'd been trying to get back almost since we stupidly traded him away.

    Yeah, things really suck.

Coach 'A'. Yes ! Even I think Steve Francis should be given 5 mins playing time in the first qtr. to see what he can do. It can be increased so that he get 50% of Rafers time if he is decent. If not do the same with Brooks! :p
If all three are inadequate then we need to trade fora Point Guard- from the Sonics! :p

we've been hearing this "one point guard away" stuff for years now. let's give it a rest now. rafer is doing fine. he's doing what he's supposed to do which is make plays. and now we have mike james whose good as a closer. if steve is too fat and too immature to get his head straight, then RA is doing the right thing by benching him. we're still winning anyways so we're not losing anything by him being on the bench.
