Yes. I was being sarcastic. Javashot- when you C&P an article from an external site, you need to provide the link or the thread gets locked.
As opposed to last year's team, which was too many minutes, not enough weapons. Sounds like improvement to me.
That's BS. Adelman said Yao should attack WHEN THERE IS NO DOUBLE. He CLEARLY didn't want Yao to attack and shoot over the double. That's why he was pissed on that dunk and benched Yao immediately thereafter. Yao was extraordinarily aggressive on that play. Then Adelman takes him out, gives him an earful about not passing out of a double team, and defuses Yao's aggressiveness.
I think that you're taking Adelman's quote out of context. Here's the quote I believe that you were referring to: What RA seems to be saying (IMO) is that Yao needs to be very aggressive when he is singled up and finish. What he isn't saying is that the only time Yao can shoot is when he is single covered. I missed that part of the game where Adelman was pissed after the dunk...but I'm willing to wager that that play wasn't the cause, nor was Yao benched over that. I'll have to check my DVR of the game just to be certain though.
Bonzi Wells didnt post all of them small guards he had on him, he was shooting 3's instead, and missed like 3 layups
No, I'm not taking it out of context. There's another line in there saying that Yao made the right decision in passing out of the doubles, and he clearly said "if they're not going to double him", the implication being that if he was doubled, he should pass it out. Adelman doesn't want Yao to shoot over doubles and force shots, JVG let him do that, and Adelman doesn't even want to repost. Adelman was also wrong to say that Yao didn't attack when there was no double because he did back it in on Diop and score when the double didn't come. As for him being pissed.... a picture is worth a thousand words. Look at Deke, and then look at Adelman. He was IMMEDIATELY benched, literally right after the (Scola, you moron) negated FT. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=3219553&postcount=1772
See bolded above...it seems that you are taking a statement ("if they're not going to double him"), and then gathering perceived implications from your own assumptions. I took a look at the picture, and it seems like Adelman has his "coach" face on - when have we seen coaches get wildly enthused about plays in the fourth game of the season? There doesn't seem to be evidence of an inimical agenda against Yao by Rick Adelman at this point. I know that you are not a Rick Adelman fan right now, but I'm still not seeing the quotes or the evidence that points to him not wanting Yao to shoot/drive through the double - just your perception of those events. However, if you can find the balance of the article, I'd be glad to read it and try and see what you are seeing right now. I'm not being snarky - I just don't see it.
For all his grumpiness, screaming, and grimacing JVG would pump his fist and/or look satisfied when someone made a good play. Adelman looked displeased if not angry, and benched Yao immediately after. I drew my implication from three things: First, that Adelman praised Yao for passing out of the doubles, second, because Adelman added the addendum "if Yao isn't doubled" to his statement that Yao needs to attack more aggressively, and third, Yao's response to a question about his number of shots after the game was "Do you want to cause trouble for our team?", which means he is clearly unhappy about his number of shots.
You have a point w/ JVG. I'm still not necessarily agreeing with your conclusions, but I'll have to keep a close eye on Adelman during the game tonight as much as possible. Right now, I'm just going to remain patient and see how things work themselves out.
