If I am reading this link right, the Raiders have nearly the worst rushing defense.

I hope Joe Echemandu can unleash something... Is Green playing?

It's pretty surprising that Oakland is so bad against the run. Their defense was pretty damn solid last year. Kirk Morrison is a monster.

Looks like Green will play. I think a Green/Echemandu tandem might be a very good thing...

Like I said before, Miami is giving up more yards per game than Oakland but we still only managed 74 against them. On the other hand, the Raiders are the only team in the NFL giving up 5+ yards per carry.

Texans Hoping For Natural Disaster To Galvanize Team

HOUSTON--The 3-5 Houston Texans, unable to shake the malaise that has gripped them in recent weeks, have been searching for a spark to get them back on track. After a trip to fire-ravaged San Diego, in which they were routed by the inspired Chargers, many Houston players are hoping for their own natural disaster to galvanize the team.

“It would be nice to have some sort of hurricane or fire or something to bring us all together,” said quarterback Matt Schaub. “I wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt, of course, but a few billion in property damage and maybe a small refugee crisis would definitely galvanize us. Right now we’re just going through the motions out there. Come on! Let’s do this for Houston! See, that would work a lot better if the city was lying in ruins right now, but God forbid we catch a break like that.”

Schaub cited the San Diego Chargers' performance on Sunday as proof that natural disasters can be very effective motivational tools.

“The Chargers came out and whipped our asses in the same week that their entire region was ravaged by wildfires,” said Schaub. “Did you see how galvanized they looked? I’ve never seen such galvanization. By contrast, our locker room was like a funeral. If we could just have natural disaster, we could band together and march to the playoffs, where we could face the Chargers and see once and for all what happens when two galvanized teams meet head to head. I predict a scoreless tie.”

The Texans started off the season by winning their first two games, but have since gone 1-5. Schaub, their newly acquired quarterback, hasn’t looked much better than his predecessor David Carr. Now he’s on the sidelines with an injury.

Backup QB Sage Rosenfels takes the reigns this week, but even he admitted to being less than optimistic.

“It’s been a tough season and we’re all kind of dragging right now,” Rosenfels said. “I’ve never seen a more uninspired group of players. It’s like we’re all resigned to the fact that we stink and have no hope. Me? I don’t even want to play on Sunday. I've grown to hate this stupid game.”

When asked if a natural disaster could help galvanize the team, Rosenfels had this to say:

“It definitely wouldn’t hurt. I mean at least it would shake us out of our doldrums a little. We do live in an area prone to hurricanes, but I think it would be cooler to have a volcano eruption cover the entire city in lava. Just thinking about it is making me pumped up. Yea! Rising from the ashes! Whoo!

“Ah, forget it. There's no volcanoes around here. This area of the country is so lame.”

Coach Gary Kubiak doesn’t share the same pessimistic view as his players. He does, however, believe that players should be self-motivated and not have to rely on outside circumstances to light a fire under them.

“I think we just need to execute better out there,” said Kubiak. “We need guys who want to play, who want to learn, and who want to go out there and stomp the living **** out of people every week. That should be your motivation. Either that, or you can just think about the fact that your contracts aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on and we can cut you in a moment’s notice.”

I like Echemandu, he looked good in limited time last week. I'd like to see him get more carries and hope he makes an impact. But before last week, he had 8 carries, all in 2004. That's it. The fact that we're hoping we can help us is really sad. I don't believe that if we played him all year (or even against Miami) that it would have made that big of a difference.

BTW, I don't know if it's posted, but Drayton Florence was only fined $15K for the illegal hit that knocked out Schaub last week.

According to the Texans website and the Chronicle, he won't play this week but will be back for the game vs. the Saints.

Johnson won't play when Texans face Raiders
Star WR will rest knee again in Week 9, will return for Nov. 18 Saints game

    By MEGAN MANFULL

The Texans have decided that Pro Bowl receiver Andre Johnson will not play this weekend. Johnson is still recovering from a knee sprain he suffered in Week 2. He has been inactive the past six weeks.

Coach Gary Kubiak said that Andre Johnson will play when the Texans return to the field on Nov. 18 against New Orleans. The Texans do not have a game next Sunday.

"He will not play until we come back against New Orleans," coach Gary Kubiak said.

"He's made a lot of progress this week. He's practiced pretty darn good. He's not 100 percent, but he's close, and the best thing for Andre and for our football is to make sure that he gets another 16 or 17 days of rest.

"We will proceed that way. He'll be back against New Orleans and we're excited about that."

and the Texans rank #30 (of 32 teams) in rushing yard per game.

The #30 rushing team versus the #30 rushing defense should keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

The Texans will gain well over 100 yards on Sunday. Hmm... 143.

What is this? The site looks real, but this is so bogus. The QB's wouldn't make comments like that. Probably what they think, but they wouldn't say it publicly. :p

How many folks would rather watch the Colts/Pats game?

No option, though, except a bar or an NFL subscription.

    :(

Just go to BW3's or a bar and watch both.

Unfortunately I will be at work and can only watch the Texans.

    Fantasy Football:

Would you guys start Andre Davis or Jacoby Jones?

Some fantasy football websites are predicting a bigger game out of Jacoby Jones?
