What are the good baseball card years to get of the teams below: I'd like to get Wade Miller, Oswalt, Hernandez and anybody else who's big time. What years should I get? Are you asking just for the sake of collecting or for an investment? The reason I say that is that minor league sets usually don't gain too much in value unless it has "glamour" type players like Griffey Jr, A-Rod, Jeter, etc. I actually have a Columbus Mudcats minor league set with Darryl Kyle, Eric Anthony, and Tony Eusebio and it's still worth about what I paid for it. Last season's Round Rock team probably has a lot of potential future star types on it like Tim Redding, Jason Lane, Carlos Hernandez, Brad Lidge, and Roy Oswalt though not sure if he's in that team set.
This is for collecting. I think those Astros pitchers are going to be worth something someday. I have the same set you do ironically. I did get some Kenny Lofton and Luis Gonzalez minor league cards that year too. I also got the Ken Caminiti minor league card as well. Those were the only players that I've ever gotten that were any good. Doubt they are worth anything now, but I think these stros pitchers will be good.
