there are so many possible interpretations..

pocket rockets: poker hand also called american airlines. mavericks and heat play in AA arenas. mavericks tie also in the trade mark reference.
also, jerry buss is a well known poker player, high stakes, tournaments, tv appearances. the lakers tie in with the disgruntled player, aging contract, no trade etc.

Miami always has disgruntled stars, but no aging africans. i'm not buying the mavs enough to bother.

I'd expect the aging african to be too obvious to be taken at face value.

I don't think the 2nd part involves the Rockets either. The aging African doesn't make sense with us. Deke can't be traded until January, so no trade involving him is going to be announced next week. I really can't see us getting rid of McGrady or Yao for Kobe either. Kobe is great and extremely talented, but our problems have not been our superstars. They have been our bench and supporting cast around Yao and McGrady. Now that we have both, why get rid of a major piece for a potential chemistry killer?

 

I would never hint about it on here. The info is way too serious to go on an internet message board. Especially if nothing materializes from it
