Adelman is perhaps best at distributing time and getting the right players in at the right time. Some say it is easy when you have a lot of talent, but considering ho deep the SAC teams were that he coached you rarely heard players on that team gripe about PT and he was effective at getting PT to players at the right time. Eventually this will really benefit this team as the season progresses...
He's right. Even a well-oiled and disciplined offense like the Jazz can go stale if there is too much 1 on 1 play trying to capitalize on a mismatch. Players aren't machines and if they stand around watching Boozer on 2 or 3 straight possessions, it's hard for them to suddenly snap back and go into their cutting/motion offense the next possession. When watching the Jazz against other teams, they do best when Boozer gets his points from putbacks and assists. When he takes time to go 1 on 1, everyone else just stands there. On the other hand, when Deron Williams goes 1 on 1, he still looks to pass the ball even when he can beat his defender. Next time we play the Jazz, I hope Scola is comfortable enough to be aggressive on offense. Boozer is a very poor defender and making him work on that end is one way to slow him down.
I was thinking the same thing - Scola almost made Okur cry, and Hayes guarded Boozer better than anyone else I have seen, especially on our own team, but even on most other teams. Hayes is exactly the kind of defender we should be putting on Boozer. It may be blasphemy, but maybe against the Jazz, the team would be better served by having Yao come off the bench against the Jazz's 2nd unit, when guys like Collins are in the game. Nothing against Yao at all - he'll still be an MVP caliber player again this year, it's just all about the matchups.
I'd be against that. I wouldn't want to shake Yao's confidence with a move like that. And he can still be effective for us by blocking shots around the basket and dominating Okur on the other end. I firmly believe he's capable of that. And we can't expect Tracy to go off against the Jazz every time, so we need Yao in there.
No. The Jazz usually get a high percentage of their shots blocked, since they attempt so many shots around the basket. I think Yao will average 2 bpg, as usual.
wtf? How delusional are these guys? reading their comments, you'd think they just crushed the rockets, LOL
Yao should stay at home when we play the Jazz, he was so slow, and did not know what to do at the most of the game untill the 4 q. Maybe he sould just play the 4 q.
Oh come on, he missed a lot of easy shots, and was a MAJOR force on defense blocking 5 shots. He struggled...but still contributed. DD
HaHa, that is why I said he should play the 4 q. in which he did not struggled. It is just kidding. I want to him to domimate, not just to contribute. But it is just one game, he will be fine next game. Tmac and James saved the game for us this time.
The below is the poster I did before the game. The score is pretty much close. A great win. "I like the idea to play the game like the game 8. Rox 101:Jazz 94."
Yao played timid no doubt. He will have much better games in the future. My only real concern is Rafer as the starting PG. His "strength" of running this offense has not shown up so far in the first two games. I don't think it will be long before Francis starts seeing playing time.
