James,Scola, Wells and Hayes playing with those three makes it impossible to draw a play and make an easy basket because of the speed and timing tonight. I got to give it to James for giving us the spark from the bench and not to mention about Scola's game was not even completely adjusted to the NBA game and he deliver the help that Yao needs. Great job on our second unit!
MJ scored more points than the entire utah bench. How many time have someone in rocket bench out score an entire team happen in jvg days
I wonder if kenny "The Jet" Smith know that the second unit was for real!! I can't believe even Charles picking the aging bench of the Spurs and Mavs!! Eat that Charles!
Sigh, of course I meant: Judging from Charles's double chin, I believe he will EAT anything at this point
the athleticism and quickness of the second UNIT held its own. Last year, our second unit was on the slow side.
james, scola, wells and hayes makes 4. oh well, at least you got it right on james, scola and wells are the 3 main guys off the bench.
I'm worried about our Starting 5, but you're the reserves are fantastic so far. I'm sure the starters get it together soon, then we'll be unstoppable!!
One game? Even Kenny Thomas has gotten more than 10 assists in a game. gotta love fans that make such definitive statements based on one stat.
Mike James isn't going to be passing like Steve Nash but do we really need that? I'm happy if he's hitting shots at the rate he has been and with all the different looks his game has (drive it in, shoot the 3, pull up for the 2, etc.) he's been a real force in keeping the defense honest. Very nice play so far. I think we've always needed more toughness and scoring from our PGs and a little less of the passing and over dribbling. I can't even begin to express my thanks for Scola's energetic play, as well as my appreciation for Bonzi's redemption. I shouldn't even need to go into how much I love Shane Battier and Chuck, and Deke, and Luther Head...and sometimes Alston. I don't know, i'm pretty happy so far. Keep it rolling guys.
Our team being so deep is the reason why I'm not too concerned about our starting five not coming out of the gates like they should be. The quality of our team as a whole from top to bottom is really what I believe to be championship caliber and although there are quite a few teams that match our depth, most teams in the NBA dont have such a deep roster. There will be days when teams run right over us at first (Lakers, Jazz) but they will have to be able to keep that pace the rest of the game. When it comes time for the bench to start coming in for both teams, we hardly lose a beat. You plug in James, Wells, and Scola off the bench and you got three legit NBA starters that can bring firepower! If you wanted to put your BEST FIVE out there to start you could easily sub James for Alston and Scola for Hayes, but I think what their doing now works well for the team because by having them come off the bench you are constantly sending waves of attack that other teams are forced to compete with. Basketball is a marathon not a sprint and you must play the game for a whole 48 minutes.
