Uri Gellar did a freakin' math trick last night. An easy to figure out, easily explainable, MATH TRICK! As an audience member, you want to be mystified. But you also want to know how the trick is done. If you can explain it, the trick sucks. Does anyone else notice how they all use the same "celebrity" plants? I thought the trick started out alright but it got really ridiculous. The tape is pre-recorded (obviously). Is contact with the dead so predictable that it always happens in the same amount of time complete with a sound effect at the supposed climax? The guy who "stopped his heart" was lame too but this one was worse.
That argument was completely fake and premeditated. The only decent trick on the whole show was the guy who spun the credit card around him -- all those number tricks and the "stop the heart" trick were just dumb.
So far, most of the trick rely on us trusting the "celebrity" assistants/plants that what the magician claims is happening is real. Sorry, that doesn't impress me. We all know there's lying and misdirection. Show me something I can see with my own eyes. Forgive me if I don't consider "celebrities" who are payed to be there reliable sources.
I don't think Blaine was around then, or popular enough to have his own hour long show on prime time television when I was a kid.. Copperfield was the guy I remember doing the levitation trick back then.. whether he was the first to do it.. i don't know..
I wonder what would have happened and been the reaction have the guy agreed and then proceeded to tell what was contained in the envelope.. The look on Angels face after words I'm sure would be priceless ^^ btw most overweight and "big boned" girls I've seen have "Bombs"
