    Walmart is having a "Secret Sale" instore only, starting Fri, 11/2 at 8:00 am and will have the Toshiba HD-A2 DVD Player for $100. Lowest on Pricegrabber is $198. Thanks aerodynamics.

    I own an HD DVD player, and I love it. I have had not a single glitch. It upconverts my standard DVDs really well.

    A 100 bucks for a hd-dvd player... how much are blu-ray players 2 or 3 thousand?

    I don't think Blu-ray players have ever really been that much...except for the special Blu-ray players that Sony put out years ago that weren't even using the same specifications. Those actually might have been recorders now that I think about it.

    As wizkid83 said, the PS3 is still the cheapest one out there, although I think there might be one or two other Blu-ray players that also retail for ~$400. Not sure if there are any special deals for discontinued players like this other deal though.

    Words are that there will be some cheap Chinese-made HD DVD player coming out on market during the holiday season for below $200, which is the reason why Toshiba's HD-A2 is now being sold for so cheap.

    If you don't want to stand in the line in front of WM, check out Best Buy's price for A2. I believe that it was $99 earlier today also.

    The Chinese-made players have already been announced IIRC...think maybe even a few ads have been released too. Not really a rumor or anything like that at this point. I guess it is one of many reasons as to why the A2 is being sold so cheap.

    But who wants a refrigerator sized disk player sitting in their living room?


    I hear a good small blu-ray player is still about 5 grand.
