Lamarcus aldridge looks like a player tonight. Roy is playing like crap but they are hanging with the spurs. That is going to be a nasty team in a few years.
Did Marv Albert just say "the Czar passing on that penetrating information" when referring to Eva Longoria's interview? Was that awkward or what? LOL
I appreciate this game is close in the 4th quarter but everybody knows the Spurs are going to win it. Bowen completely owns Roy. How does that old guy still do it?
Brandon Roy looked really stupid when he started going at Bowen insted of continuing to set up his teammates. Took them completely out of their game at the end. Ah well, he's young...
Wade at least has some redeeming traits, I absolutely loathe Parker. On another note, I really like how we match up against SA this year. Scola will be invaluable, I love Chuck but now it's like we are playing 5 on 5 offensively rather than 4 on 5.
Aldridge and Webster looked great. Travis Outlaw looked pretty good too. The rest of the Blazers? Not so much. p.s. last year I think I said that I didn't think Aldridge would ever even be starter quality in the NBA. Excuse me while I eat my words.
I'll join you. I didn't think L.A. would adjust well at this level. The Blazers need either Webster or Outlaw to develop.
Yeah, they should be scary next year. Roy had a pretty terrible game and they still had a chance last night.
I don't think there is an excuse for them to get a top 3 pick this year. They have lots of talent, and could probably make the playoffs in the east. If they get another top 3 pick then it's a blatant tankjob.
I think this might be the year that Martell Webster finally "gets it", he's been playing off the charts this preseason and for this game compared to how he has been playing for the first 2 years of his career. I also don't know why there aren't more people who're high on Travis Outlaw. Dude has an iffy jumpshot, but somehow he manages to get a decent number of them to go in from midrange, plus he's long and he's athletic to boot. He's been solid for awhile now I think. Don't know if he's starter material, but he's definitely a solid player to have.
I like Outlaw a lot and have been pretty high on him for a while. As you mentioned he has all the attributes and talent to be great. He's still pretty raw but he's a hard worker and I think he will become starter material. As for Webster living in Portland I get to see him play a lot. Many here have labeled him a bust but I think the biggest thing for him is consistency and confidence (as with any young player). He will show flashes of brilliance and why he was a lottery pick and other times he will dissapear completely. This year should be very telling. The Blazers overall are missing some veterans. The guys that have been "there" before. I think they will be very competitve night in and night out but they will lose a lot of close games and ultimately finish around 10th place.
ehh the West is soo tough there is virtually no chance of them making the playoffs. they might be better than a lot of the eastern conference lottery teams, but by virtue of being in the west they'll play a much tougher strength of schedule. They won how many games last year? and they lost their leading scorer and rebounder from that team. Add in the injury problems that Roy is going through and i think it's certainly possible that they will be in position for a high lottery pick next year
