your logic is flawed. if you have a consistent fadeaway jumper, you use it. it doesn't matter how tall you are. what it matters is how efficient the form is

Where was this smooth jumper you were talking about last year in the playoffs?

No. I don't think Yao made this fade-away jumper thing. I'm thinking its been done before. you know Michael Jordan? Hakeem?

However, this slam dunk thing that Yao does, it looks new to me. i don't anyone has ever done that!

I think the fadeaway is the last shot Yao really wants to take. He looks so much more dominant when he does his spin to the baseline or his inside hook shot.

The fadeaway is his bailout shot, but he is damn good at it.

If I were to choose his signature move it would be the baseline spin. It is so quick and he leaves smalled, quicker defenders in the dust.

Yao Dunking the ball > Yao taking fadeaway jumpers over people he's 5 feet tall than.

If a fadeaway is good enough for Hakeem it is good enough for Yao.

    Lock 'er up.

well, i didn't mean yao invented it. it's just that it's rare among big guys. other big guys are not as smooth. yao is so big, he does it so fast like a guard. i think a fadeaway over 5 people > a p***y dunk :D

Dream took the fadeaway when he had David Robinson or Shaq on him.
Dream doesn't take the fadeaway on Spud Webb or Rod Strickland.

    Dunks > Fadeways

My problem with the fadeaway is that Yao seems to rely on it a tad too much. You cannot dominate like that. Dream's beauty was knowing what tools to play with. Against great big men, he had tools like the fadeaway in his arsenal. However, against average big men and shorties, the point is to dominate.

well, i'm sure yao prefer taking it to the hoop against smaller guys. not sure how big guys were ref'ed back then. but it seems to me that, if a smaller guy is on yao, anything yao does, they just fall, and yao gets called foul. i think now he doesn't bother with smaller guys now, doesn't want pick up BS fouls.

but he has to fade away... if he doesnt fade away he'll get blocked. i mean for cryin out loud during the playoffs last year OKUR blocked him... now how the hell does that happen? i mean he is the most unathletic center ever and 6" shorter than Yao, yet he was still able to hold him during the playoffs. yao needs to speed up his shot or something, cause watching him get blocked is embarassing. and then again last night when he was doing a fade-away against kwame brown he almost got blocked again. i had to rewind on the DVR to see it again, but he was SO close to getting stuffed
