the only option we have of replacing rafer is with mike james. steve francis? not a chance. however, adelman put mike james and rafer on the floor at the same time. i like that combo. rafer with his passing and james with his scoring. both players are needed for this team to do well.

For those who watched the game, is Rafer really that bad? He made the last minute mistake but he had 7 reb and 8 asts, plus: Chron :"When he missed the second intentionally, it bounced back toward him, but Rafer Alston slapped it away." which was a key steal? MJ did exactly what he is supposed to do, came in for scoring punch but I don't think I want him to start.

I think the Rockets' mistake was not willing to pay the price for Fisher 2 years ago.....

rafer haters are just upset he's playing for Francis. rafer did fine today. i didnt even notice he had 7 rebs and 8 assists. rafer always quietly puts up these kinds of numbers. rafer will NEVER get benched. he's the starting PG for the whole season, so live with it. :D

this was not rafer's worst game, for the most part, he did what he had to do, and when he wasn't, james came in for him to supply some offensive muscle.

but yes, he had a bad ending, although he did make a big 3...

take this game to the bank, next is utah

That's fine, as long as he's on the bench at the end of the game.

    Why blame Rafer only?
Rafer did a better job overall than James in 2nd half before the last two TOs. MJ played very well in 1st half. And he missed 2 crucial FTS as well in the last minutes.

One of the reasons why Rafer has been always got burnt at the end of a game is he simply not strong enough to hold his position.

mike james actually was very important off the bench tonight, he looked real good in the 2nd quarter, and in my opinion, the right timing for him to come in because the offense was starting to sag, and he did a great job. the rafer starting and james bench thing was not a failed experiment tonight, it was the ending rather than the start.

Since Kobe is the baby no more so RA escaped from being called a foul.

Did you happen to notice the awful P n R defense? Him almost blowing the game? His awful tear drop? Did you notice his ONE made shot the entire game?

How about the little things? Did you notice the Rox struggle because in the first quarter, with Chuck, and Rafer, the defense completely sagged towards Yao, and TMac. Did you notice that it was impossible for them to get a shot due to this? Not until subs came in did it fix itself. Did you notice how many times the Lakers left Rafer floating around the outside all by himself? Of course not, because you are absolutely the worst basketball prognosticator evAR!!!

I noticed it and they need to work on that fast. Chuch Hayes should not be starting, and I still think we could use another 4 on this team.

James was only good on the floor as teh 2 guard when rafer was still running point. when tmac struggles its ok he takes those shots, but if tmac and yao are on, and he's still taking the shots it's a problem.

Rafer has to do a better job taking care of the ball, but at least he hit his fts, and James choked on 2 fts at the end, and rafer possibly saved overtime, if he didnt know the ball away from KObe he would've gotten a shot off at teh buzzer.

and freaking shane battier, i was hoping they go into ot cause the rockets had to cover a 4.5 spread and they didnt, there's goes a grand!!
