If I was going to wreak havoc on wikipedia, the last place I would start would be Luis Scola's height...
I didn't think Scola was undersized when I saw him next to Amare and Dwight Howard. He looked bigger than Amare and only a little smaller than Dwight. In the pregame show, they showed Scola standing next to Oberto from several different angles...and Scola looked the same if not a little taller....he also looks like he has more muscle mass than Oberto.
I won't wong your ass but here are just a few examples: http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/luisscola.htm http://www.hoopsvibe.com/nba-blog/s...ng-luis-scola-to-houston-rockets-ar45554.html http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1208/is_39_229/ai_n15634178 http://community.myfoxhouston.com/blogs/calkins/2007/10/09/Roger_UHRice_Fox_Late_Night http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/columnists/bharvey/stories/MYSA090307BuckHarvey.EN.34b5bdf.html
he's noticeable bigger than Shane(6-8) when they sit beside each other, so I don't think he is undersize.
I agree with you, NO NAME. I think Scola is a true PF. I am excited to have him on the team. He looks like a great fit. I was just curious why some "experts" felt otherwise. I wanted to hear opinions on ClutchFans.
Actually he is a 6'9+ in the NBA the keep adding inches to players, because they measure the guy with shoes. Steve Nash 6-3 pls Aaron Brooks 6 pls Scola is 2.06 m (206 centimeters = 6.75853018 feet) Oberto is 2.08 m (208 centimeters = 6.82414698 feet) Tim Dunca is 2.11 m (211 centimeters = 6.92257218 feet) Yao is a legit 7.5 (2.29 meters = 7.51312336 feet) 1 inches = 2.54 centimeter 2 centimeter is nothing, wingspan and jumping ability is more relevant than height, you don't score with your head.
Meh, seems tall enough to me. As long as he keeps doing his job, I don't see what the problem is. Also, most of the articles I've read regarding the Rockets haven't mentioned Scola as an undersized PF. In fact, most of them have said that he may be the biggest signing in terms of improving the team.
Wow. That's quite some padding of heights.....they always make Duncan out to be a 7 footer....and he's 6'9 without shoes. According to your list, Scola would only be 1 1/2 inches shorter than Duncan. I knew Scola wasn't short because he seems to stack up size wise against the other NBA power forwards every night...and way taller than Chuck Hayes.
its not his size its his lack of foot speed that worries me playing next to yao. but hes a great competitor who is smart and tough...reminds me of battier...
