There is no reason not to predict the Rockets to win. But I hope that they won't take the Lakers lightly because they are in turmoil with Kobe's trade situation, and Odom out.

The Rockets still aren't fluid with their rotation, and Rick Adleman's offense. Their defense looked horrible against the Spurs, and I haven't really heard anyone addressing that problem.

They will need to be focusing on playing their game, and working together. If it meshes nicely then it will be great chance to kick off a tough early part of the schedule.

Oh my God, already a thread about Lakers.

Damn I'm so so excited, I cannot even think what's gonna happen on Tuesday.

Ok what about the game. Well just guard Kobe, and we'll be fine.

That would be nice to see Tracy vs. Bryant, Tracy under Adelman. I hope Tracy'll put on the show and we will see Yao in the low post. Damn gotta be a great game. We cannot give that many open positions for LA as we did with the Spurs.

I expect a great game, great shootin' game for us.

Rockets beat Lakers, I don't care what the score will be, just win the first game.

Tracy will beat Kobe and Bynum will be taken to school by the Great Wall of China

    IT'S TIME

i'm 100% sure he was joking.

I predict ... a win. the GARM goes crazy, we're gonna win the championship. then we lose a few, and in early december we look less than spectacular in the middle of the SW standings. People whine nonstop and i avoid the GARM. Then...

I come back to the GARM when the Rockets start winning their games again. Everyone's excited. We end up going 56-26 and finally get out of the first round. Lose in WCF. Great year.

T-Mac shows Kobe why he's not going to be traded and was once recognized as the best in the league.

    T-Mac with 30/6/6, Rockets win 112-97

    Kobe expected to play

Bryant sits out Lakers practice, but is expected to be ready for opener

    October 27, 2007

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) -- Kobe Bryant didn't practice with the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday because of the sprained right wrist that kept him out of Friday night's final exhibition game against the Sacramento Kings in Las Vegas.

Bryant didn't travel to Las Vegas with the team and his status was day-to-day, Lakers spokesman John Black said

Coach Phil Jackson said he expected Bryant to play Tuesday night in the season opener against the Houston Rockets.

Bryant was injured after Utah center Mehmet Okur struck him Tuesday night in an exhibition game in Anaheim.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hurting the shooting wrist could be a factor.

Looking at the Lakers preseason. They finished the preseason 3-4. Kobe has not looked good in preseasn: 21.5 mpg, 13.2 ppg, 33.3% FG, 5.0 TO.

Bynum looks improved with 22.7 mpg, 12.7 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.29 bpg while shooting 66.7% FG.

Derek Fisher has started each preseason game at point (16.9 mpg preseason), but look for Jordan Farmar to get a big load of PG minutes as well (19.9 mpg along with 1.7 spg and 51.1% FG).

Ronny Turiaf (23.3 mpg) has also started every preseason game. Look for minutes to be split between the remaining players: Luke Walton (23.2 mpg), Vladamir Radmanovic (22.4 mpg), Brian Cook (19.0 mpg), Sasha Vujacic (15.9 mpg), Javaris Crittenton (14.1 mpg), Kwame Brown (12.0 mpg), Chris Mihm (12.0 mpg)

Hopefully T-Mac doesn't let Derek Fisher shut him down again.

He won't evey guard him. I'm not sure who will Jackson put on McGrady. Bryant - well maybe, but it won't be the best decision.

    Maybe Walton

you're facing tracy mcgrady and kobe won't guard him? dude loves to play tracy. i've watched many laker games b/c i'm from cali and trust me, tracy is the guy he gets up the most. how do i know? he basically tries to block every shot tracy takes (i mean literally tries to).

Hopefully we don't take the Lakers lightly as we still have a lot of work to do with in game situations. Hoping for a Rockets win!
