On my long commute to work, when I get tired of AM610, AM790, Colin Cowpatch AND the commercials, I will listen to Granato for about 2-3 minutes. He is as awful as ever. 1560 should dump him and add Lance. That would be a huge step in the right direction. Does that station have ANY momentum at all?
OK, I was afraid I was going to get flamed. I wasnt sad to see Granato go from 610. I get so sick of hearing him go all "Sam Malone" and tell me more and more about what his kid did this morning. I think most of the sports radio here blows. Too much talk about non-sports items. Oh, and the fact that they talk about our Rockets 0.000009830467094% of the time...
I have a non-compete and cannot work in radio for a while. I am holding my own at the chronicle. I am all about print now. OK I am all about chron.com. But the stuff they have going on sure seems awesome. Ken Hoffman and Raheel are the funniest thing on the radio. Raheel is on this board, too. One of my old interns. Great guy.
I dunno. That show is a lot like eating Chinese food. After it's over I'm still hungry. It's like Seinfeld, a show about nothing.
I've been seeing their GANGSTER inspired billboards across town and decided to switch over just to see what was up but immediately regretted my decision. Granato and his cohorts were discussing their recent toilet adventures for at least ten minutes. Unfunny and idiotic. I just switched backed to 610 and haven't been back since....I never liked him anyway.
not a huge fan of his, but i've been giving him more time lately because i can't stand 790 or 610 morning shows... they just put me back to sleep. mike & mike are still good on 97.5 and walton & johnson are as crazy as ever on the 9 5 o i agree with chance though, ken hoffman and raheel are awesome. today was killer.
i liked granato. the morning show with john and lance and the night shift were the only one's who ever talked about the Rockets matt jackson even talked boxing on the night shift, which i thought was awesome
lol, not one person has answered the original question. Yes, I have heard the Lance Z commercials recently on 1560. Good to hear that he is coming back.
Why yes, I have heard those commercials. Quite witty. And I read today in Barron that Lance would be rejoining his former co-host on November first for a 4-hour morning radio show. That is quite shocking in a very not shocking way. Almost all seems right in the radio world.
Matt Jackson and Palilo are the only two guys worth listening to. The evening guy on 610 isnt bad. Adam is it?
I agree completely. Palillo is the only one with some actual sports smarts, even if he does talk about baseball entirely too much. Adam Wexler (sp?) is okay. Matt Jackson knows and talks Rockets, so of course I like him.
I know everyone has their own tastes, but I can't understand how anyone can like Walton and Johnson. Those voices and characters they do are just so lame. It's so bad I'd rather hear Vandameer and Andre talk Texans for four hours, and that's bad. My favorite show on morning radio right now is Mancow show on 950 at 10:00. I didn't think I would like it but I do. It's a good diversion from non stop Texans talk.
