According to the front page of espn.com, Floyd wants to be fired to preserve his sanity. Can't really say I blame him, there's no way I would want his job. Krause denies the story and claims he would try to talk Floyd out of quitting. Here's espn's story.
More likely, Floyd told Krause that Oakley and Artest (and anyone else undermining his authority) had to go or he would go.. http://www.chicagosports.com/bulls/content/story/0,1984,169286,00.html
I can believe the bit with Oakley after his tirade ealier but I don't remember hearing anything about Artest. What happened with that? Was there one big incident or just a lot of little things?
It started this summer when the Bulls complained about Artest going to Greece to work on a rap album instead of joining the team in summer league play. It escalated when they asked him in August to have surgery on his thumb right then so he'd be ready for the season. He didn't want to give up his summer (and he wanted to compete against Robinson in training camp which he would have missed) so he waited till after the season began. And now that he's back, it's another thing. I don't know if it's him or Floyd...
I have a feeling that this might be true. For the last year or so there had been rumors that Floyd has been interested in college basketball gigs and I'm sure it's driving him crazy that the Bulls are losing, especially after they traded away his best current player. I don't know if the story is completely true, but I think it's largely true from the way it sounds.
