Alright guys, Cuttino is again on a hot streak. Anyone else care to comment about his poor playing?

It's amazing how quick everyone gets down on a player after a few bad games. May even be more amazing how quick these same people don't mention trading, or not playing these same players after a few good games.

As stated in previous posts just let him play, and he will do wonders. He is a good player, and I just hope we keep him. Hopefully he can continue playing on this level just to silence the critics for the rest of the year!

I like Cat when he is in the flow of the offense. When he has to create for himself or others, it is turnover central.

If he plays off of Francis, and takes the open shots he is effective.

I would still trade him for McGrady though.

While I agree with you 4chuckie; I think your timing is guilty of the same thing you blame on others. You are praising him while he's on a 50+% shooting streak. This becomes a viscious circle where the bashers come back at you when he's down again. ugh!

Creating for "himself"...is quickly becoming an old statement. He is creating for the team as of late. Keep an open mind and look at his dishes at the end of his drives. They are there. He nearly handed the ball to Hakeem twice in the Denver game and Thomas got a nice feed as well, none of the three plays converted though, because the recipient weren't really ready. Cato is much better at taking Mobley passes it seems.

Lastly, we need him to create for the team anyhow, not just play off of Francis. Francis is being smothered too much, for us to rely on playing off of him all the time.

I still think it would be beneficial to the Rockets now, and especially in the long run to deal him for some frontcourt help.

Didnt I see something like, Toronto desperate for point guard.? I would definitely offer a Drew+Mobley package.

Don't misunderstand what I am trying to say. Don't think I am a Mobley hater or anything. I think we should always look for ways to improve the team.

    Smeggy,

I think you're really over-reacting. Mobley will be a very good guard and arguably already is one. He just needs a little better shot selection at times. If he can get that done, we could have a very explosive backcourt that can't be stopped. Double-team one and the other burns you. I think you're jumping on Cuttino too early... give him time, he'll be a great one.

Now pardon me while I run for cover... [IMG]

    DoD,

I am unsure who is trying to mess with the others mind more, either way trade or waive, we should purge the rockets of all players with potential, if they are not great straight away giv'em the arse, it is unacceptable to draft a player in the second round and get anything less than all star performances every night in return.
As in basketball and life in general when did Improvement over time ever get anyone anywhere.

Is smeggySmeg filled with dry sarcasm or stupidity?

I'd like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. It must be sarcasm. If that be the case, I'd like to drain a few pints with him sometime.

If Mobley and Drew could land McGrady, I'd do it in a heartbeat. And as everyone knows, I have no beef against Mobley (No, REALLY guys!!!). However, his shot has been coming around lately and so has his field goal selection from listening to and reading some of the guys' and gals' posts in here. If he can start hitting over 44% with his potential for explosiveness, I'd keep him and let him get extended minutes in the backcourt.

    DoD,

Next thing we know you'll be saying you are a Mobley Apologist.
As for a trade involving Mobley and McGrady, is McGrady every going to worth the maximum that he wants, plus I thought the raptors were trading Christie to GS for Mookie, if they can convince Mookie the weather is ok in toronto, and thus have a PG and persuade McGrady to stay.

If Mobley and Drew could land McGrady, I'd probably do it (even though the man is wanting the maximum this offseason and does in no way deserve it) ...

... Mobley is frustrating sometimes to watch and at other times he's downright awesome. He reminds me a lot of Maxwell and Cassell -- somewhere in between there. Both of those guys slid in the draft and both weren't afraid to jack it up. Goat one day, hero the next.
