My aunt was recently diagnosed with a reoccurance of Leukemia. She had fought it off the first time, but unfortunately didn't take her meds as she should have and it came back. Earlier tonight, she was found unconscious and has hemorrhaging, though I don't know where. She lives in St. Cloud, MN and had to be air lifted to Minneapolis. Don't know if any of you have been through this and can tell me if she's got a chance or if I should be looking into plane tickets. Either way, we could use some prayers...
Dang man, my mother died from that disease, got to take your meds. Prayers are with you and your family. DD
I am so very sorry; I wish I knew something about it but I will at least keep you and your family in my prayers. Have you heard anything new since you posted?
Unfortunately, she is now officially brain dead. My cousin is waiting for his brother to get there tommorow morning to do the rest. I very much appreciate the thoughts and prayers.
Sorry about the situation with your aunt, Maestro! You can count on it. Ironically, I just got an email from my Mom, she's got stage 1-breast cancer. Good news, it's early so it should not be too intrusive to her life. At least, I hope. Not like when my grandmother died from it in 1976. Thankfully, modern medicine HAS bridged the gap in this area. Anyway, I will keep your aunt in my thoughts and prayers. Tough situation hang in there.
It's always, always horrible to lose relatives, especially close ones. Prayers and thoughts go to you and your family.
I'm so sorry, she'll be in my thoughts. My father has beein fighting CLL for six years now and my grandfather died from it.
Thanks everyone. I'm heading up to Minneapolis early tomorrow morning. Most of my family will be there already. It's going to be a long day.
Prayers sent. Guys, if you want to have a chance at saving someone's life, get tested and register for the National Marrow Donor Program. (http://www.marrow.org/) It's a major operation to give marrow, but if you are a match, you can save someone with no other chance.
