I am not blaming him. I just think he is not perfect yet. Same as everybody, he needs time and experience to be the best.
very disappointing since adelman thinks it's bs. i guess that 15,000,000 shares of FMD and 5th most valuable franchise isn't enough.
My take on the text tea leaves is he meant Morey wants to add another starting quality player maybe a F/C. Butler hasn't shown much and it would be a disaster if Hayes & Scola get into foul trouble during the same games.
So having experience will make Morey a better fortune teller? As in, he'll know that none the trade options Spurs had for Scola would work out around draft time, and that they're forced to deal Scola to the Rockets under time constraint? Or that he can start telling whether undrafted players like Mike Harris will turn out good or bad? Morey may be lacking in some respects, but buying a second round pick was not a bad idea, at the very least as an insurance policy. Personally, I don't blame Les at all. He's said all along that he'll only go over the cap for a significance piece to our team. Mike Harris, no matter how he looked in the pre-season, is not that significant piece.
Oh! Come on! Our team is so stacked! Even Steve Francis is worrying about how many minutes can he get! How come we all focus on a man that would not get more than 5 mins per game even if he make the team? One of the main job for Morey is to strictly control the salary under the LT,cutting Harris is just a sensible way.
What we've been saying all along...teams have no reason to give us anything. They just have to wait a little bit longer and then can sign these guys to smaller contracts.
that's also what I understand from reading it. which makes sense, our frontcourt is still relatively thin. If yao goes down again, we will be in trouble.
I feel sorry that Rockets can't keep him simply because of the money reason. Mike simply came to the Rockets at the wrong time. If he came two years ago like Chuck, we could've seen a completely different picture. No offense to Chuck's fans, IMO Mike's got more to offer than Chuck in long terms despite of NBA experience and he's a local star too. As a fan I don't like discussing basketball with money issue involved. I'm just hoping Morey could come up with more wise trades to trim down the roster so we may pick up Mike again in the middle of the season. Remember, althought we are loaded with talents, most of them are guards. Our roster at 4 is still pretty thin and will be greatly affected once injury hits at that position. Just a scary thought (but I never want it to happen), suppose Chuck got injured, obviously Scola can't play all Chuck's min at 4, so who's going to be Chuck's replacement? Carl Landry, Jackie Butler or Mike Harris? I prefer Mike. Mike Harris > Kirk Snyder, Carl Landry, Jackie Butler, Justin Reed. Mike Harris' waive is BS despite of money reason, coach A said it right.
Dallas: 17 in camp...2 slots for 4 players right now (assuming Fazekas is in) Barea Bass Ham Newson Outlook: Given how good they looked against us, hard to see Mike getting the nod over Barea or Bass. LA Lakers: 18 in camp...1 slot for 4 players Coby Karl Larry Turner Elton Brown Andre Patterson Karl seems to have the inside track (he even has a picture up on the Lakers roster page) and has the benefit of being George's son. None of the other names stick out. Outlook: Mike may have a shot with the Lakers. LA Clippers: 18 in camp...no room? The Clips have 8 guys with multiple guaranteed years left (counting Brand and Shaun Livingston), plus Quinton Ross, Aaron Williams, and Sam Cassell, who all seem to be locks for the roster. That leaves 4 slots. Josh Powell and Guillermo Diaz were apparently signed to 3 year, partially guaranteed deals. Paul Davis, Dan Dickau, and Ruben Patterson are on one year deals. One of the players mentioned will have to be cut just to get to 15. The Clips also have their former lotto pick, Yaroslav Korolev and Kimani Ffriend in cut. Outlook: not so good for Mike in Clips jersey. Chicago: 15 under contract...1 competitive spot? The Bulls only have 15 players in camp after cutting Andre Barrett and Jared Homan. They do have 3 non-guaranteed contracts in Aaron Gray, Jameson Curry, and Thomas Gardner. Gray and Curry were both drafted this year, so they're unlikely to be cut. The Bulls have said they'd like to keep a spot open on their roster for flexibility, so even Gardner's spot may not be safe. Gardner is a bit of their Mike Harris it seems, performing really well in the preseason and camp. Outlook: A slight chance, but not much. He did just get cut, so maybe more teams will come calling.
Great read, but it's all bussines,I'm a bit suprised that Rockets want to cut Jackie Butler because of the fact he is 22,reserve center and has some potential but Morey knows better than me so I'll trust him whatever happens.
similar in their hustling and high basketball iq. that's it. they play differently. hayes rely only on cutting at the right moment, since he doen't have a shot. harris, has a shot. hayes is a better post defender. good luck, harris. just don't go to dallas. please. i hope he goes to chicago. him and the other young players, could be exciting.
To be honest I would rather Harris warming the bench than novak. Hope morey somehow gets him back. But I highly doubt it.
How do we know if this source is true anyway? The source is some person claiming to have spoken to Harris in a bar. And why would Harris know what the Rocket's moves were going to be? That should be private and secretive.
