ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Sonics 10/20/2007 (PRESEASON)

It's legit information. Let's just say as a member of a certain social circle information and the nature of the business gives you a peak of the realness (or unrealness)of certain situations.

What I said in my post is what anyone will tell you who is in the houston sports press game.

They just wont tell you this on camera because they are to report the news. Not to tell you what they know is going on. And for the most part the information you get from people in the media talking rockets basketball. Goes as follows:

a) ESPN or National Commentators who only speak on what they know through "TEAM" Press releases

b) Local Media....Channel 26, 39, 13, 11, or 2. Who job is to report the news. Only after it's become concrete. They rarely speculate, or get to share the information that leads to the news becomming news.

They aren't going to cite a conversation they had with Steve or Tracey at a bar as news. Even though that info is or has potential to be more news worthy.

c) Rockets Press and Commentary generated by the organization itself... Also known as "Things that are important that we WANT you to know and BELIEVE"

Is the picture clearer now?

I'm somewhere in the middle or speculation and information from good sources that I can't cite for personal reasons.

If you could turn Bill Worrell (if that's how you spell his last name) loose at the mouth and got his honest opinion on the team. His comments would probably be similar to mine.

But just remember these post and wait and see how much of my statements come to pass.

You will be amazed.

And for the Record I don't have a problem with Hayes and Alston. I'm just a realist. Chuck is a NBDL player who has some skills but isn't better than 80% or the power forwards in the league. And Rafer is a kid with nice handles who team basketball skills aren't Championship caliber. Also, he can't shoot.

I'm just being honest. I a huge Rockets Fan they could win 3 games this whole season and I'd watch everyone of them.

I just think a search information beyond what is feed to me.

I don't know how true the things this guy says , and if Rafer starts because we are shopping him but I won't be surprised if it's true.
I mean in the offseason Rafer said "I guess the team is heading in a different direction , I understand it's a buisness".
Then he said when he asked them about his status they said "They couldn't give him a clear cut answer , we want to see how it plays out" they told him.
So if we are not shopping him why didn't they say , don't worry we are not looking to trade you we just want some depth.
It's possible that we were shopping him but Adelman really liked what he gives us and wants him to stay now.
But also we clearly have 3 point guards who can start why not give everyone of them a chance to make a case for him self?
Are we really showcasing Rafer?
Who knows we need to see what happens , right now it's all specualtion.
First I want to see Francis proving he can play with T-Mac and Yao effecitvely before I can say bye bye to Alston.
I hope he gets a chance tonight.

I hope he's right, but I'm curious what upgrade at PF we are targeting with Rafer Alston as a centerpiece. I guess Haslem makes a little sense, but the Rockets would certainly have to sweeten the deal a little. Maybe something like Rafer, and Head for Haslem. Even if Miami jumps on that deal, is Haslem that much better than Chuck or Scola? I'm not sure.

 

Sorry, your credibility went down the toilet when you said Chuck can't rebound. It's like, the only thing he CAN do. Way to blow yourself out of the water?

 

Exactly. And we have had actual insiders IC2000 and denniscd, in addition to Yao, McGrady, and Head stating that Rafer performes well and Steve struggles to adjust. I don't know if IC2000, denniscd, Yao, McGrady, and Head are all part of the cabal trying to trade Rafer. Doubt it. Management may or may not want to trade him, but his performance is legitimate.

And I doubt he just played with the same old 4 other guys in practice. In fact, the 2nd preseason game saw Rafer starting with Yao, Battier, but also new guys James and Scola.


In any case, I doubt this guy's info and intelligence, given the Chuck Hayes can't rebound comment. I'm content, however, to sit back and watch Adelman handle this.

 

yet another person claiming he's an insider, as if that'll make his opinions more 'true'...as long as you're not the one making the personnel decisions, you have NO idea what really is going on. The people that make the decisions can change their mind faster than you can get the information.

It is a possible that rafer is going to be traded due to too many gurads in the team, but if Rox are unable to trade him, he is still useful. He is playing better in the new system, but so does every player. HaHa.

Anyhow, another win for Rox, Rox:120 and Sonics:92.
