I know most of us don't like Eddy Curry, but he raises a valid point. Guys who are big get beat up and don't get calls. It happened with Shaq, and it seems to still be happening.

I remember that nobody forced Curry before 2-3 seasons out there.
He was just solid C,now he is probably the best Knicks player and Knicks have potential.
Anyway Yao is gonna destroy him,so everything else is meaningless.

Triple negation  Curry has a very logical mind.

I'm not a Curry fan but good for him. The league either needs to call these hard fouls or the players getting fouled so aggressively need to return the favor with an elbow upside the noggin

I think it might be worth missing Yao for a few games if he "inadvertently" dropped some punk with an elbow to the side of the head. Watching someone get knocked out for playing prison ball with Yao would probably deter most other players from trying the same thing with him.

I remember when an insecure O'Neal swatted Yao in the back of the head after he dropped 34 points on him in his sophomore season. Shaq, you are a joker and nothing else.

It's all about business. Kobe and James type players are more marketable. Thus, they get calls even if they are just touched. But big guys win championships.

And we are lucky that Yao can hit his free-throws.

NBA Post calls for BIG men are rediculous and atrocious. That said, he sounds like a whiney baby. Play the blasted game; let your GM send taps to league office.

Besides, Baby Huey er Eddie Curry wil miss no fewer than 40 games this season, and he'll still tote his checks home.

BTW - yes, Knicks have potential this season with a return to Piscataway real.

    baby huey? Piscataway real?

miss no fewer than 40 games?

I'm no curry fan, but the dude has played no fewer than 63 games a season in his career..last year he started in 81 games and the previous season he started in 69 out of 72

his average over his 6 year career is 74 games per season...

yao ming over his 5 year career : 70 games per season

He called Curry names because Curry whined to the media, not the number of games he missed.

Yep. It's pretty messed up that big men like Yao and Shaq constantly get hammered with no calls while floppers like Devin Harris can draw flagarant fouls by jerking his own head, falling down, and flailing his arms.

The league officiating sucks for years. Is getting worst when they started to call this stupid hand check fouls. You cannot breath air on players like Wade, Kobe, AI etc, is an automatic fouls whereas you can put both forearms on a post player, push and push and push without getting calls! Incredible!

The distinction in officiating isn't perimeter vs. in the paint. It's facing up, versus posting up. If you face up, you can't hand check. Doesn't matter if its on the perimeter, or in the paint. And if you post up, the defender can use his forearm. Again, doesn't matter where on the court you are.

That said, there is an officiating bias against small players, because they flop around a lot more. Can't deny that.

Big men do get hacked a lot more than what is called, but they also foul a lot more than what is called. That, my friends, is what we call a two way street. Half a dozen guys would foul out of every game.

And Curry, I know NBA big men, and you sir are no NBA big man. Big men rebound.

I agree with Curry. It sickens me how Yao has permanent scars from where players claw at his arms and back.

The problem isn't that the get fouled more than what is called, it's that they get fouled harder! If they were just getting grabbed with two hands so that they had to shoot free throws instead of dunk or lay it in, that'd be one thing, but these guys are getting clawed, punched, flailed, elbowed, tackled, and yes, even nut grabbed! That's the ridiculous part. That's the part that needs to be examined and changed. I hope Curry is successful at drawing attention to this problem. A change in policy here could add years to Yao's career.

What about D-Wade!? The guy can fall by himself(as seen here) and still get the call.

I'm sure he takes a beating...but man, I was watching Celtics vs. Knicks just now on LP and Curry is starting to become Oliver Miller-esque. Man, the boy is fat!
