Go to Start > Control Panel > Security Center > Windows Firewall > Exceptions

    Click on "Add port"
Give it a name like "Torrent"
Type in the desired port (I use port 16881 for Azureus)
Make sure you repeat the step for both UDP and TCP

    I hope this helps.

If you have vista, I don't think there is much to do, since I recall them blocking p2p. Maybe there is 3rd party patch that will fix the problem, i dunno.

"Port forwarding" tells the "device (eg. router)" that is connected to the internet, to connect to a specific computer on a specific port. If you have a router, you gotta login into your router and config the port to be connect to which computer. For example, if you need say "port 413" to be open for torrent, then you gotta go to the port forwarding section, and add in the port 413, and beside it enter your "internal computer ip." You gonna need both a TCP/UDP port.

Its best to just go to the utorrent forum, pretty sure there is an FAQ section or something with problem/solutions similar to yours.
