    What about Old Spanish Trail?

    and also Richmond? I think thats named after Sacramento King great Mitch Richmond.

    I think (not totally certain) that OST's name came from the fact that it was part of Santa Ana's route to the battle of San Jacinto, where the San Jacinto monument is off of 225. Before the 610 Loop was built, commuters (like my Dad) who lived in Houston but worked down near the Ship Channel used to use OST as part of their route to and from work.

    I know this because my parents grew up there. Originally, before it was a city, that area was a Tree nursery. Which is also why Teas nursery still has a considerable property area in Bellaire.

    They have a Houston street if that makes you feel better.

    So does New York, but they pronounce it "how-ston" I believe.

    For those of you on the SW side of town, along highway 6, there's a road to a neighborhood called Empanada. That's a filipino favorite as far as food is concerned. Anyone know the origin of that?
