can't take this anymore, every year a 10 percent increase. worst case, they don't give any statement about the expenses.

    1. how much do you pay yearly/
    2. what are the amenities in your community.
    3. do you get an expense report from your HOA?

    Thanks.

    1. 850 yearly.
    2. Nothing but a lake that is close to a swamp.
    3. No expense report.

Over 100 a month, no idea where the money goes, the outside is pretty much a dump. The last guy in charge of the money fled to Mexico with over 100000. It gets raised every year. All this in a small ungated townhome complex. Am I getting screwed that bad? Appears to be the case...

    $450 a month... so about $5400.

I live in a condo in downtown San Francisco.

Oh yeah... no doorman, no security guard, no pool, no fitness room. So, we're getting ripped off.

Zero. But I live next to a city councilman, so those randomly enforced city ordinances actually apply near my house.

Fortunate enough to live in a neighborhood with a Civic Association rather than an HOA, so participation is not mandatory. I believe it's about $150 a year, but I don't pay. Their literature says it helps pay to spruce up the medians and keep the Constables patrolling through the neighborhood.

Is your HOA being run by the mafia?

Holy crap, at least make sure they're lubing you up first. Seriously, that's almost as high as my mortgage payment.

Think that was bad? We pay $3700/year. That gets us some landscaping, digital cable, and limited exterior repair work. When I say limited, I mean they will weasle out of any work as if they were an insurance company denying claims.

for those paying for a gated community, do you get a newsletter listing all the burglaries that have been committed in your neighborhood? :)
