steve isn't playing tonight. he's playing in the seattle game.

 

Scola is terrible on defense. just terrible.

 

Total fear of embarrassment. Let the summer league team take that heat instead of the starters. The knicks might have taken the same road if they knew their starters would get killed by 40 last night.

 

Head is in the game. looks like hes the 9th man.

Thirty point first quarters bode well for the starting line up. There is a huge drop off, though, when subs come in as evidenced by the first preseason game.

 

what kind of logic is that? francis played last game and head didn't, does that mean francis is ahead of head? bill said francis will not play tonight and will play against the sonics. RA wants to see what the other guards have. he knows what SF3 brings so it's pretty obvious he has secured a spot in the rotation.

 

Franchise can't even make the rotation?

 

Wow, Scola is a foul machine. The fouls aren't good fouls either, they're ticky-tack fouls which allow bad 3 point plays.

 

This is the first time for me to see Rox new offense. After the first quarter, have to say this offense is much much much much better than last season. Cannot wait for the real season to start. It will be a much fun filled season!

 

As I mentioned in a previous post, the only thing that I'm a little concerned about from Scola is his defense. Coming from Europe, he's gotta watch the cheapie fouls and illegal/moving screens. He's shown he can score, rebound, and hustle but we need him out on the floor. He can't help us if he's sitting out with foul trouble. If he can control his fouls, he'll be a monster.

 

Well I agree. He got a lof of fouls but in the same time he gave an easy basket for opponents...

now now... as some noted, the Greek team was only NBDL quality... so that just about breaks even with the one the Mav's are fielding.

On a more serious note, I wish the Mavs played their big 3 so that we could see how are offense would fair against better players, although having said that I don't think JT/Dirk would make a difference in the way their defence looked; Howard is the only good defender out of the lot.
