Anyone know of any good discount places to buy furniture in Houston. Looking for a mattress, bedroom set, sofa......basically everything.

Same question been_exed asked: how cool does the furniture have to be? Ikea's okay but I hate dealing with the crowds and traffic in that area.

My friend's family owns Right Price Furniture on the Southwest Freeway if you want to check that out. The furniture there is okay - wouldn't say it's Star Furniture quality but closer to Fingers than Ikea. If you want a contact PM me.

I usually get what I need at Fingers. Stuff is quality and doesn't break the bank. But the quality is light years beyond Ikea.

Mattresses are kind of like cars...took a look at Fingers then went to Mattress Giant and told them the deal I got offered at Fingers, and they gave me a slightly better one...had to go and pick it up to avoid delivery charges...but I didn't mind so much since I have a truck.

Bell Furniture SUCKS...went to the showroom on I10 and the Beltway...the salespeople came off like sharks...seemed to hover over you. Plus, they only sell their pieces as collections...no thank you.

Fingers was decent, but I felt the salesperson was a little pushy...still we would have gone back if not for the great service we found at Roomstore (the one in the Fountains....I still remember our salesperson, Brandi...probably one of the best salespeople I've ever dealt with...but the collection at the Roomstore is pretty big and you can buy in pieces or as a sets...pretty good prices too.

The Dump is a safe bet.

Rooms to Go is also nice. I got a very comfortable leather couch set for only 500 bucks.

The dump seemed pretty pricey when I was there, its really nice stuff at a discount, but discounted really nice stuff is above my price range

Last week the wife and I bought a very nice livingroom set from the Roomstore. Great help. No interest for 12 months IF you apply for their card. Quick delivery.

Of course that particular set was the ONLY thing I liked there.

I just got a 6 month old bedroom set from the Roomstore off of Craigslist. It looks brand new and cost about 50% off what it costs in the store.
