Adelman coached Artest for 40 games in '05-'06. I'm sure he knows when to back the practice intensity down. Seriously though, this can ONLY be a good thing. I don't see a single downside. Winning cures everything. And on the remote possibility of James, Francis or Wells being unhappy....they have low enough contracts that they present no issues to chemistry. Just my humble opinion...Van Gundy's personal intensity bonded the team...Adelman's practice intensity will do the same thing.
music to my ears. We need that kind of competition. Relax, behind door fights are common in all teams. If there isnt a fight in practices, that team is in trouble.
Shut the hell up. I bet you're a wimp in real life and don't have any testicles. You sound like those type of guys that likes to talk about toughness because you aren't in real life. It's spelled testicles by the way. By the way, were you there? How do you know they weren't literally fighting? It said there were fights. There's a line between competition and genuine animosity that can fester and destroy chemistry.
And every NBA player I've ever heard discuss their championship season(s) has always mentioned a very special bond that exists among the players on that team. Being "close" isn't a certainty of anything disruptive.
Scola may be one of the guys involved in some altercations. He is like the new guy from another neighborhood coming in and trying to show you he can out hustle you. And if your friends see you getting outplayed by the new guy you can start getting mad as hell.
Alright, alright. Note: I dont know if any of you guys know this or not, but I can recall Bill Cartwright almost beating the sh*t out of MJ back in their glory years DURING a regular practice. If anything this is normal, and is a sign of competitive juices flowing through our squad...Ask me, I'll say its normal and is a sign of good things to come. Out.
You mad? Yes, this team is doomed because there were "fights" during preseason where guys are "fighting" for positions and spots on the team. Trade all the trouble makers before we have "Brawl at the TC". Seriously, because these things don't happen during practice right? The season is officially over before it starts. Tank?
According to this, Yao, Tmac, Scola, Rafer, Novak on white; Deke, Brooks, Head, Harris, Snyder on blue; Francis, Lucas, Butler, James, Wells on Red.
Seriously, what are you going off on a tangent about? I just expressed the concern that the fights would lead to bad chemistry. There's a difference between heated competition and bad blood.
This looks like Survivor to me. Three tribes with a series of tests and at the end, a blending of the survivors into one tribe.
The teams switch up lineups every day.....just wondering what lineup there were on when they were fighting.
I'm a bit torn with all of this. On one hand, I like the idea that these guys are playing with some fire and taking practice so seriously. On the other hand, I have a feeling that what is motivating these fights has little to do with the fire of pure competition and more to do with ego. Francis is already whining in practice about not getting calls. How is that constructive? I can see how the thing motivating these guys to fight can also be what leads them to hog the ball and make boneheaded plays during the season. The reality is that the guys who have won the least and been moved around throughout their careers are probably the ones fighting. Just my hunch.
I am so excited that Adelman has a hard job before the season start. I am sure many teams are focusing on our guys who will be cut and hire him immediately.
Exactly. When is Adelman going to start making cuts?....is he going to wait till the very end...or cut the guys that obviously won't make the team, soon? I would like to see the guys that will help the team the most get the minutes to work on their game.
