I agree. What I meant to say was that a trade, specifically one involving one of the top 10 or so guys on the depth chart (not JL3, Butler, Reed, Landry, etc), will HAVE to happen. Otherwise, there just aren't enough minutes to either keep guys happy or keep the team effective. You can't just keep shuffling people in and out of lineups and expect them to develop chemistry. At some point, you gotta keep a few of your most effective combos in for decent stretch.

If I were RA this is how it would go

    PG: Alston (28), James (20)
    SG: T-Mac (15), Wells (15), Head (10), Francis (8)
    SF: Battier (25), T-Mac (23)
    PF: Scola (28), Hayes (20)
    C: Yao Ming (35), Mutumbo (8), Scola (5)

Francis is no longer nearly as good as he used to be, the injuries have taken a large toll on his athleticism -- looks a lot more solid in spurts.

With as many injuries as we have had the last two years it wasn't a mistake - it is an advantage. Especially on back-to-back game situations. As far as ths year is concerned it is about winning a championship, and not about who gets high mpg's. If we keep winning and Tmac gives up some minutes for Francis then great. And especially if we win and Yao ives up some minutes to Scola - even greater. IMO, Rick's main job this year needs is to win as many regular season games as possible for home court while keeping the mpg on the rotation guys to a minimum. If he can do that and everyone's mpg is 24 mpg then great.

And if Les has to pay some luxury tax money this year to do it this way without raising ticket prices - then great. No telling how much money he is gaining from the China market - it has to be potentially millions on top of millions.

And in the end, I would keep the veterans and cut an inexperienced/so-so potential rookie if it comes down to.

I hope he will get some spot minutes here and there and that he will do well and make some important threes for us - I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be able to do what Bullard did - well, first I hope he won't get cut.

he wont get cut because he has guaranteed money...harris may be better but wont make it unless there is a trade to open up some roster spots...novak has regressed from summer league two years ago where he looked like a keeper. he should have played in the d league...jvg screwed that up
