Hey with all the controversy in New England what are the chances that the Patriots stick Bledsoe in the expansion draft. i mean ive heard rumors that they are. Why would they want to pay that kind of salary as a back up? what do you think the chances are the Texans get him?
It's been discussed here: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25368 I say we draft a QB (in a lower round, mind you) who hasn't signed a $100 million contract (like a Carr, Kittner, Harrington, Dantzler, or Godsey). We could also trade for a young QB (a la Seattle's strategy with Hasselbeck). I'd be interested in seeing how Baltimore's Chris Redman does in the starting lineup. Or Pittsburgh's Tee Martin. Or Jacksonville's Jonathan Quinn. I wouldn't go after a rookie from last year (unless maybe it was Weinke). Too inexperienced. Dilfer is also an option to hold down the fort until we draft a stud.
I don't want bledsoe.I don't really think he would be good on an expansion team....he isn't mobile enough and would get killed...I'm not sure what his salary is ?? but it would be a waste of money for a new team that won't be able to compete for a few years.
After reading that other thread,it seems everyone is in agreement.....no bledsoe....lets hope the Texans feel the same way.The Texans will be bad enough for a few years, that there will be plenty of chances to draft a good qb.
i've been keeping an eye on him and redman, actually, and as luck would have it, just read the other day that the jets have been less than happy with pennington and that they fully expect testaverde to be back next year. pennington's a real solid option at this point, tho i'd hate to know what the jets would want for him; he was a first round pick just two years ago.
What do ya'll think of the McMahon kid from Detroit? I think he's a rookie out of Rutgers, and from highlights I saw of the Packers game he's a really nice-looking athlete with a solid arm. BTW, I like Pennington too. And count me with the 'No Bledsoe' people. Go to Chicago, Drew, so Hutchinson can sign with the Texans.
i don't think they think that much of mcmahon. batch has actually played well since he was benched, and, of course, with the likely second pick of the draft, they could always take david carr. i don't know this for a fact, but i doubt houston will expend picks or money on a QB, at least, not a high pick or a lot of money. i think they really like carr a lot, and they could sign dilfer (a good friend of carr's, and a former bulldog, too) and let him mentor carr. but i just don't think carr is first overall good. if they could trade into the 7-10 area, add an extra pick or two and still get carr, i think they would, but that's just me speculating.
