Kirk Snyder really got game except JVG has only foreseen Tmac & Yao, but he really can explode on an open floor and be the off the bench additional scorer on our team. Kirk's got some awesome vertical lift and a good shooter as well. But with so many arsenal weapon on this team. Man! Who knows?
i like his game too, but we got bonzi (better offense maybe) head(better shooter) on the team plus tmac plays 2 and 3, then u got francis and james, it'll be hard to find pt for kirk. But we shouldn't tread him, cos next year when bonzi leaves, he can fit perfectly into that role
Snyder is crazy athletic but he's a worse fit with Adelman than he was with JVG. Put Harris' brain in Snyder's body and you would have a starting caliber NBA player. Kirk is a goner. He's cheap and some team will take him.
The only way i see kirk playing is if we have some unforeseen injuries. This kid has a lot of potential but thats not good enough to crack the rotation on a team thats thinking about win now and not developing players. Its sad though since this kid has the potential to be a good rotation player.
Am I the only one who don't really like Snyder? He has a bit of skills but he doesn't know what "Pass the Ball" means.
Honestly even Mike Harris is better than Snyder (athletisism, shooting, passing, hustle, heart)......we have too much talent!!
I like Head better than Snyder although i think both will not get much minutes. I do not like Snyder forcing the issue and playing one man game too much...that is the easious way to play out of Rick Adelman's rotation. His offense require you to be selfish and take your opportunity when it present itself...but Snyder is just not like that from what i seen in the preseason so far...i don't know if he's trying to impress so he can make the team or what....but if ur' going to impress, you should try to play a team game not one man game.
in the last game snyder demonstrated that he's a ball hog without much basketball iq. yes, he has crazy athleticism. yes, he could be a lockdown defender. yes, he has a solid ballhandling. the problem is, though, he just can't maximize his potential. he still has not a good shot. he often doesn't try on defense. and he often doesn't know how to use his athleticism to his advantage. in my opionion snyder should be traded along with lucas and reed or novak to bring in another proven power forward with athletic and scoring abilities.
I get the sense that Snyder doesn't know how to play the right way. He's very athletic and has good hops and that's what has tantalized coaches....but he never seems to put it together. JVG would get mad at Snyder because he would be in the wrong position, etc. His previous coach also gave up on him, eventhough he was a young athletic player. I don't even think he plays that good of defense. Just because he's athletic, does not equate good defense. Bonzi is a tremendous scorer when he's in a groove and Head is our most accurate marksmen.....so really Snyder is not going to see the light of day, now that Adelman seems to be experimenting with playing some of our 29 point guards at the shooting guard position. They should just put a "DNP" on Snyder's jersey because that's what's going to be next to his name all year if he even stays on the team.
Another Swift? Obviously, he must find another team to develop his potential. He is only better than JLII in our logjam guard.
Good thread. I've always said Snyder is really good and he should get his minutes. We need that energy which he provides. He's really strong, he can take to the basket every time he wants. So if he stays agressive he will have a lot of chances to play. I only hate when he's shootin' the ball.
While I'm not sure if Snyder will get regular minutes this season, the Rockets really should keep him around. Bonzi will be a free agent and will be seeking some big money, money the Rockets might not be able to pay. Remember, Francis will likely opt out of his deal in favor of a full MLE deal from the Rockets. The team is already over the luxury tax, so they probably can't afford to pay Francis and Bonzi. Kirk plays a similar game to Bonzi and can be re-signed for relatively little money. If nothing else, he should be kept around as "Bonzi Insurance".
No fourth year guard should have the word develop next to them still. That should set off an alarm right there. Kirk might have all the "potential" in the world but potential is worthless if someone isnt smart enough to figure it out. And dont give the he hasnt had enough playing time in the league bs because he had plenty of playing time in NO when he played for the hornets. What did they do after he had a decent season for them? They traded him away for nothing because they knew rasual butler was a smarter player. And lock down defender means that they can actually lock people down, and i remember last year when kobe and wade ABUSED kirk snyder when he was on them. This dude has no chance of being a lock down defender. I wish all of you guys were rival gms so i could fleece you on a high potential low iq player deal.
