8:30 in the morning and some yelling crap over loudspeakers. I'm sure my whole neighborhood can hear it. It woke me and my wife up. It is so loud we though the radio had turned on. It has been an hour and it still going on. Cops have been called. What is wrong with these stupid people? If they think this is happening every Sat morning, WW3 is going to start in Clear Lake.
it is probably just a one day thing. today is eid-ul-fitr, the holy day for muslims that marks the ending of the month of ramadan. prayers are held at 9am and the events begin at 8 am. im sure it will be quiet next saturday.
That maybe nice and the muslims can practice their religion all they want but I personally think they should keep that within their walls and not blare it over loud speakers for all too hear cause others like me just dont give a **** about their religion or any other religion for that matter and just want to rest on a Saturday @ 8 AM!!

Does the entire ****ing congregation live around the mosque? Maybe it's the ****ing mosque that should have some common sense. Get the flock inside AND THEN get on the mike. Don't announce your **** to the entire ****ing neighborhood! I don't care what day it is & what religion you practice but keep that **** inside.
Actually, not without a noise permit you can't. Also, if the loudspeakers are preventing somebody from enjoying the peace and tranquility of their home, the mosque may be guilty of breaching the peace and may be civilly liable for a noise nuisance.
This reminds me of the first episode of The Sara Silverman Program this year, where Sara was pissed off that church bells woke her up early on Sunday morning.
I have personally never heard of anything called the Iqra Center. These are all the mosques that are under ISGH's (Islamic Society of Greater Houston) wing, which most Muslims in Houston fall under. http://www.isgh.org/isgh_centers.cfm All of these mosques have large enough land around them so that they do not bother other surrounding neighborhoods, and if they are on a smaller plot then they do not have their prayers on the loudspeakers. And ISGH rents out the reliant hall for its Eid prayers so that the community can do it in one place and so that there isnt increased traffic, and noise in residential areas.
also you can try going over and asking to speak to the director and letting him know that the loudspeakers are annoying and are waking you up in the morning. Im sure he would be more than understanding... btw, can you tell me the exact location of this Iqra center.

it's too bad your u button seems to be selectively broken and i agree, fireworks at 9pm is slightly different from loud speakers at 8am on a saturday.

Why do they even blare the speakers, that is some screwed up crap. Time to cut those wires... Just tell them if they do that again, you will be shooting flaming arrows at their building as that is your natural response to their disturbing the peace at 8am. Ridiculous. DD
