ClutchFans Game Thread: Panathinaikos @ Rockets 10/11/2007 (PRESEASON)

I can't believe we did this good tonight when T-Mac didn't play. The team seemed to play a little better in the flow of the game.

Was it me or did it seem Synder was a big ball hog tonight. Man I think he's trying to do his best to make the team. Great talent, not a good baskeball brain.

 

To be fair the Greek team were probably jet-lagged and unfamiliar with NBA rules.

 

WOW What a game. I didn't see it cause I thought hrere wouldn't be any stream....BUT FU*K IT WAS ON SHTV!

Thanks. Yeah I know that his is using "Carl Herrera" as his moniker now but you rarely see "Card Herrera"'s post now. I guess Clutch was fixing those account upon owner's request. If he didn't contact Clutch, his account will not be fixed.

i don't agree with any of that, but i do think rafer is going to continue to be of value to this team, which is sort of your point.

rafer looked like this many times last year, it just wasn't consistent. he won't look this good every game this year either but we're deep enough to cover it up.
i absolutely would not say he's better then mike james but his skills are very different. mike can attack the basket and score which is something we sorely missed last year.

as for the game tonight, scola was a blast to watch. the offense was so much smoother when he was out there and he looks like he's going to be a leader on the floor already.

other than him i was impressed with the way the team played with t-mac out. it could have been the competition, but i think the amount of talent on this team takes a good chunk of the load off his shoulders.

Many of u are now all the sudden loving Rafer,and you wanted him out of town.Remember?!
It was so boring that many said that Brooks > Alston???
I'm not defending or offending Alston but I don't like those all the sudden versatile opinions.

 

I can't belive. Look at Rafer Alston. After 2 games he is really amazin. 11,5 ppg, 5 apg, fg% 69 and 3pt fg% 71

So where are all these Rafer's haters who wanted to trade him now?

Ok I know it's preseason. But Rafer looks good right now. I know he did the same in last year's preseason but I really belive he could have as great regular season and preseason under udelam.

You know why? Cause he doesn't have to be the 3rd scorer on the team.

 

Can everyone buy some season tickets or one of the many affordable Rocket packs so that Rocket managment, the announcers and the sideline reporters can stop spending 30 minutes a game peddling them????? I don't even think Bill called the game for a long stretch in the first half because he had the Rockets CEO go on forever about tickets as low as $9 so come out and get your tickets.

 

true, but its preseason, don't have high expectation. who knows, rafer could be the same player as last year even with the high expectation. i'm thinking rick will switch rotations depending on the opponent with rafer/james/francis. rafer does look good though, hopefully his 3 point stays the same as it is. imo, most of his 3s and stevies 3, are made because of the momentum. the momentum gets them in the game, and can do many beautiful things. last year, we had no momentum on offense. that could be a reason for rafer's poor shooting and howard and head poor shooting in the playoffs.

also, snyder, is trying to hard. he was forcing up 3s, and missing them. hes not playing the way he could be.

 

Well, until he shows he can play like this in the regular season, he is still the guard that is most likely to be traded before the deadline. Remember last season how Mr. "Sure Shot" Steve Novak lit up in the preseason? Well, in the regular season he couldn't hit a jumper to save his career.

 

Seriously the euroleague is a freaking joke. We manhandled their championship team with no set plays and a bunch of guys that have hardly played against each other.

 

That's just not fair. It's just preseason. Sure we added some new players. But they did too. I don't know much about that team. But at least I know Sarunas and G-Mac (albeit didn't play) are two of their new additions. I assume there's more.

And one game doesn't mean anything, much less a preseason game. Heck we lost to Dallas to 40 points in game 7 in the playoffs.

Also the NBA rule is new to the greek team. They obviously were having a hard time adjusting to it. It's understandable. Didn't Team USA alwasy use that as an excuse after their FIBA losses?

that was a fun game... sigh... now we have to wait a whole week for the next one!
