See, this is what's strange. I too live in Australia but i watched well over a dozen games on leaguepass, on my own NBA.COM account, no problems at all. When i log in, i notice that the letters 'intl' appear in the URL bar, so i think it allows for international users to watch via broadband without the need for a TV cable deal.
If ABC has a game that day on though, all the league pass games are blacked out for that day. So Sundays can really suck in the second half. Also, if you have time warner, to watch the games online, you have to fax them proof that you have subscribed to league pass before they will allow you to. I'm going to get LP again, because I live in NYC and it's the only way I can watch Rockets games even though I will probably have to DVR the games as well this year. Two things: Is anyone from NYC going to be going to the Knicks or Nets games? Last year I just went on my own.
It can be crazy and confusing because there are different coverages for different areas and different cable providers. But, Fox Sports Houston (according to the Direct TV supervisor) is an alternate channel that broadcasts overflow programming from Fox Sports Southwest. Fox Sports Southwest and Fox Sports Houston are different channels. Most of the time Fox Sports Houston will be blank in areas outside of Houston, except when they broadcast stuff like last night's game. I don't know if you've guys have experienced this, but last year when I had NFL Sunday ticket, there were some games on the national broadcasts which would feature your favorite team, but they would suddenly switch to another game if it's a blowout or start 30 minutes late where you miss a quarter.....so I learned to tivo both the national broadcast channel and the one on their Sunday ticket channel so I wouldn't miss any of the action. I might try that for the Rocket games because these network guys don't realize that diehard fans that follow say the Cowboys don't want you to cut out to the Green Bay game just because the Cowboys are blowing out the Rams....in fact, they would love to keep watching the blowout. By the way, Hayefan....that's smart to be like Morey....just wait till you get all the facts before you make the final cut on league pass. I don't want to miss a single minute of this exciting season....so I'm making sure that I get all the games.
interesting. i don't live in outside of us. don't know you can just sign with nba.com to get league pass. here in us, you have to have a tv carrier to subscribe league pass. ok, the problem the guy from Australia has is he can't see a lot of games using internet. he has some kind of limited amount bytes he can download w/ high speed. over the limit, he can't use broadband. his internet speed will be dramatically droped. it sounds weird here in us.
I just purchased my league pass on DirecTv for a second year. If anyone is interested in splitting the cost and using the internet portion (I will only watch on TV) email me at NabeelLalani@gmail.com or Nabeel.Lalani@bba07.mccombs.utexas.edu
Quick question. Are most of the Rockets games in HD? I'm dieing to watch it in HD...so much better looking than the ****ty picture I get on my LCD of the basic channel.
Really? I haven't ordered mine yet but my wife was the one that told me about the special, wouldn't freak out too much it'll be avaliable as the season gets closer
League pass is not supposed to be sold until the Oct. 30th. Early bird special / free preview lasts through Nov. 6th.
Sure it is. You would just install the slingbox client (slingmedia.com), I give you my finder id and password, and your good to go. No costs involved because it's basically streaming my cable video feed over the internet. All you need is the client and internet connection. The only problem I see is what time the games are on in Australia? You might have to wake up early in the morning. hehe The slingbox is also great because its always consistent and you don't have to listen in chinese. I am sorry but the chinese play by play is awful if you don't know chinese Well.. when season starts.. make sure to give me a holler @ magnetik@gmail.com
yeah the early bird special typically last through the first week of the season. I'll be ordering mine a bit before opening week
Yeah that's correct. If you live outside the US you are able to purchase the League Pass and stream the games. Also you can watch archived games up to 48 hours after they play.
Ye thats the major problem. Almost all of the games are on while im at school. Thats why NBALP would be ideal because i can watch it when on delay, when i come home from school without knowing the score. Ill email you anyway and we can go from there. It still may work out.
Why don't you do some research for yourself. http://www.indemand.com/sports/nba/faq/faq.jsp http://www.timewarnercable.com/centraltx/products/cable/sportspackage/nbadivspage.html http://www.timewarnercable.com/centraltx/programming/nba/nba.html
i have comcast HD. i was watching the pregame show, but then when it was gametime, they cut off the feed. anyone know why? i ended having to watch it in SD.
