I know you guys are ragging on james, but i loved he's mentality in the 4th. he was taking to the hole. sure he missed a few gimmies, but that will get better as the cob webs are dusted off. james is the type of player we need in the clutch.

Bonzi looked like Blazers bonzi. he was fantastic. him and rafer look tight. i think they look like there best friends off the court as well. great understanding on the court.

Scola looked better then i thought he would. expect him to improve. tracy looked like he was running without any pain. he looked alot slimmer as well.I thought reed and harris looked ok. harris in particular.

All this offense talk making me worry about our defense. Last year when our offense was down atleast our defense could win games for us. I just hope we just don't carry ourselves away from Defense because Defense wins championship.

I don't know, R2K has been MIA for the most part during this offseason. I hope he's doing well, game videos or not (but seriously, can I get a game torrent or something? ;) )

I am not. He should be with the starting unit because he's the best fit with Yao and T-Mac in the lineup, and not a very good fit if he has to go 1-on-1 (that's where Stevie's strength kicks in). I would put James in the starting lineup, and then have Rafer and Stevie coming in off the bench along with Bonzi and Scola. I think that's a pretty good balance in terms of starting unit/bench production.

We can easily go 10 deep this season on consistent basis and not suffer too much for it, even if we suffer a couple of injuries here and there throughout the season (Brooks will be waiting for his chance, I am sure).

R2K will be posting the highlights, he left chat last night saying he was going to "edit"

I would imagine you can look for it at some time today or tonight.

I have gone through this and I have to say....much less impressive than I had imaged from your description. Actually we had an advantage of 21 sheerly due to the stupid shot choice of the other team. They werent trying any offensive run, just isolation or simple jump shots, many of which were uncontested but still missed.

I don't know. I've always been a proponent of replacing Rafer, but he was really making everything go in the first half last night. It was a noticeable difference when he left the game. If Mike was in in the first, I don't know if we jump out to that 30-9 lead.

btw, I was at the game last night and most everything has been covered, but I picked up a funny comment from Bonzi. I was directly behind the Hornets bench and Bonzi was coming down the floor near the end of the 1st. He pauses and says something to Coach Scott. Then he goes to the Hornets bench and says, "He's scared to death." :)

overal, i was in a great mood watching the whole game. getting to know the new players.

novak: don't think he has improved at all, only way to prove is to get stronger like luther did.

reed: very impressed. nice free throw shooting, did pretty good on defense. wasn't a liability

harris: hes a beast. thats all i have to say, and he has range too.

snyder: low iq is his main flaw. thought he would flourish, thinking, adelmen will make it easy, but snyder's iq is so low, that he doesn't know the basic fundamental.

bonzi: nice, didn't know he can finish around the basket like that. amazing

luther: good job in getting stronger. still makes bad pass, but he makes good cuts, and played good defense against paul imo. stayed with him, most of the time

james: a little disappointed, expected a little more, especialy all the hype he gotten, but i'm sure he'll do better

francis: he is still athletic. but, seems, rusty. he was bringing ball up court, but someone poked the ball behind him. just thinks he need time.

scola: not a good postup defender. he lives up the hype he gets, though. better than spanoulis. ;)

rafer: great job. i'm hoping we get to keep james, francis, and rafer, and use 2 of them at a same time. id be nice, to see them winning for us.

overal, i think they did a great job, especialy with no plays. little dissapointed with our "scrubs", but its ok.

He didn't look very good at all. For someone who is supposed to be an intelligent player, he wanders around on offense without a purpose. I can't understand why he doesn't constantly either set picks for others or run off picks to get open. Of Novak's two baskets, one was an open shot from the corner and the other was a long bomb at the final buzzer when the Rockets were down by 5. With this one game as a snapshot, I don't think Novak makes the team over Harris, who had 9 rebounds in just 19 minutes. But things can change in the next 3 weeks.

This board typically overreacts but the reaction to a single preseason game is melodramatic even on our scale of overreaction.
