Hi fellow Rocket Fans. I know one of these links have been posted in the other forum, but we all the injuries happening lately, I think our time is coming around to make a good trade happen. For example the following three incidents have happened recently. Nuggets' Carter breaks bone in hand http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...007/10/06/bc.bkn.nuggets.carter.ap/index.html Warriors' Ellis injured Guard hits head on teammate's knee, sprains neck http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...7/10/06/bc.bkn.warriors.ellishu.ap/index.html Heat may trade improved Williams http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/23454 I think by the end of training camp, I hope Rocket's management finds a way to trim our roster accordingly and make out with one or more of the following: a vet player, draft pick, and/or cap space. What do you guys think?
VERY misleading title. Made it sound as if it came from Morey himself that trades were underway. There's absolutely no mystery of all the rosters in the league, the Rockets' needs trimming the most. If its so CERTAIN "there are trades to be made", why not at least suggest those obvious workable trade scenarios?
Just trying to strike up some injury to trade conversations. And I don't believe my statement to be misleading, my title was a telling sentence title. In other words, git er done. But if just ignore if you don't feel like contributing to the theard.
problem is other team know we need to trade as well they are not going to give us anything for someone like JL3 cause they know we are going to cut him and they can sign him to the minimum salary
Dude don't get angry, its a boring and obvious thread. We all know that we need to trim our roster and we all know that various teams have voids in different positions. Its only been posted around 302842347523704895 times
Title really is misleading. Had me going for a second. Wanting us to end up with a veteran player? As if the pot isn't muddled enough already...
Aw man...I thought we finally had gotten rid of Alston! Dang.. But we all do expect a few trades to be made to tease the roster down. Lucas, Alston, and Reed are the main guys I see going. Possibly Novak...but Synder is a keeper.
Yeah, if we pick someone else up, what position are we looking to fill? The only way I see a trade happening is if it's a minor salary dump deal, or for an upgrade at the 2/3 or the 4. Something like Battier and a couple of young prospects (maybe Head, Hayes, Lucas, etc..) for a star 2 or 4, maybe Maggette. I'm not saying I'm willing to dump Shane, but that's really the only thing that makes much sense.
Don't really like Maggette. Battier seems like he'll fit our system better. As for trades involving us taking on one or more players, we'd at least have to take on less salary, and give us at least the same number of players as we are getting. There would be no point to dealing Head for three players. Giving up Head, Lucas, Novak and say, Snyder for a guy who makes as much as them combined and can play makes more sense. I don't know who that guy is though. Just food for thought.
listen, we are not in the driver seat right now for the trade market. Rest of the NBA knows that we got extra bodies to cut in order to trim down our roster and salary cap. we got 20 players under contracts. most likely to get cut -JL3 -Reed -Novak -Mike -Sura The only way team would trade with us is that they do not want to complete with other teams for teh same player and that play is well under market value. Otherwise, they would wait before signing them.
