Most will simply judge by W-Ls. which is fine, but there are many things that also contribute to postseason wins, not th coach alone. but i know you are all fired up and gettingready to drop the hammer on jvg when the rockets advance this year. You will also conveniently ignore significant talent upgrades of personnel. But we will finish the conversation in May or so
Me too, I never dislike a coach before, just dislike certain NBA players, JVG is a kind of coach who can not be fully supported. Last two years he had so many issures with the players, fans, his GM, and the owner, not mention about his style of the basketball.
No I won't, there is no way to make an apples to apples comparison with this years squad versus last. I will enjoy the style of basketball a lot more though. I hated JVG, I think his way was outdated, and that he is a good but not great coach, I believe Adelman is better. I prefer a coach that can motivate players like Phil J, or Rudy T, or Rick A, rather than one who just gives all stick and no carrot. JVG was part of the problem but not all of it. DD
Look JVG was a decent choice for a Francis and Mobley team, but as soon as we got Tmac, he was the wrong choice. JVG can coach his type of players, but his style is outdated, and prone to failure in the playoffs....no plan B = no playoff advancement. On the other hand, he is AWESOME as an announcer, so at least you guys can listen to him more often now, under less stressful conditions. So we all get what we want......you guys get more JVG to listen to, and the Rockets get better. See, win win.... DD
oooooooh, burn! You got me! I already graduated but still, nice one! lol Seriously though, that's the best you got? That sh*t was almost as dumb as something that b*stard midget JVG would say. OU, #1 in National Scholars and top 5 in Rhodes Scholars beyotches!! F**k the football team, though. Colorado. Seriously Stoops, f'n Colorado?!
you are too much. "decent"?!..hilarious. Coach of the year candidate..."decent". Top 7-8 team in the league..."decent". yup...attention to detail, execution and a top tier defense is very overrated and is outdated. sign, Spurs.
Did JVG make Rafer do teardrop and layup drills? Did he make Chuck Hayes do free throw drills? I agree with Mr. Alexander that drills are boring. But those things are useful sometimes.
The problem is JVG doesn't like talent. He likes scrubs that fit into his style of ball. Adelman will take all this talent and mold it into a team. JVG would misuse the role players and end up playing the same team as last year (except for probably Scola). This is the year the TMac, Adelman, and the Rockets break through to the title.
Regarding light bulbs, I would like Snyder to coach over JVG in the last game against Utah, at least Snyder knows all their plays and his mind wouldn't go blank in the last ten seconds. JVG is out because he became Coach Steve Francis, hard working, lacking basketball IQ, and falling in love with the Isos.
