FINALLY a weekend concert with Maynard and friends. Anyone else going? I've heard they're sticking with the same setlist from earlier this year, which means still no H.

btw- ToyotaCenterTix.com blows ass when busy. After three tries I ended up with Floor tickets, 11th row...and thanks to their crap site it wouldn't load in time and my time expired for those tickets. 5 minutes later I still ended up with good tickets, but not 11th row good. MAKE LONGHORNFAN ANGRY DIE!!!1111juan

Tool? Is this some kind of show using assorted power tools and wrenches and whatnot? Tomfoolery?

Man....I saw them last time they were here out at the Woodlands. It was far and away the WORST show I've even been to.

Maynard was sick, which I can respect. Sh*t happens. Rather than cancel and return later, he barely sung at all. He also made them close the concession and merch stands (beer, t-shirts, and all the rest) after the very first song. I heard the audience sing more than Maynard. In short, it was awful.

I will forever have HUGE respect for Metallica from a similar instance with an entirely different result: Summer Sanitarium Tour in Dallas several years ago. James Hetfield threw his back out and was unable to perform. The show went on with Jason Newsted and every other lead singer fronting Metallica when they came on stage as the top bill.

That show killed, and Metallica returned a month or so later for a free show for those who kept their ticket stubs from the first show, all so that the fans would be able to see Metallica as they paid to see them.

I still love Tool's music, but I'll never buy another ticket to one of their concerts.

I got my ticket this morning. I too was dissapointed in the Woodlands show, but saw them in Fort Worth a few weeks later. Best live show I've ever been too. I wouldn't miss a chance to see them for anything.

No worries. I'm sure there's a Nickelback thread or four that will suit you just fine.

    Ok?

My guess.........An amazing and completely original band that's WAY above your head. Which is why you feel the need to belittle the thread.

17 years after their first album, they're 10X's better than anyone performing today.

I'm guessing you haven't heard a single song from their last two albums.

I heard a Tool song on the cable-radio thingy the other day. It was ok - not as good as Scott Stapp solo stuff, obviously.

Yeah, Maynard James Keenan just doesn't hold that rock star aura in the way Scott Stapp does. Dude is money.

    Long live Creed.

BTW... AcesHigh7 - Circle Jerk has been moved to 10 PM next tuesday and I'm gonna need you to bring the shammy this time.

Dude, tool is amazing Ive been waiting a long time to go to a show. Problem is, no one in my circle of friends actually listens/likes tool. I think my gf would go just to support me or watever. But I'm fed up and i think I will just go on my own and enjoy some of the greatest music ever!
