Came across this article on Yi Jianlian. It questions his age and then makes a reference about Hakeem:

"There are those who still say Hakeem Olajuwon was in his late-30s when he led the Houston Rockets to back-to-back championships."

I never heard this about Hakeem, only Deke. From the video clips this summer of Hakeem and Yao, he seemed to still appear rather spry, even more mobile and athletic than Deke.

Some goofus has a serious question about Hakeem's age? They should have seen him on the UH campus. Looked pretty damn young to me.

Just doing the math on this, he was 31 when he won the first, meaning he would have been ~6 years older than he was saying (to be in his "late-30s"). Apply that to what Deckard said: Did Hakeem look like he was about 25 years old in his freshman season? No way possible.

There were always questions about Dream's real age. I think some people that knew him in Nigeria said that he was at least 4 years older than everyone thought.

I've heard that nonsense before. Look at the changes and growth that Hakeem's face underwent between college and the pros. It was appropriate with what his age was, would have been freakish had he actually been 6 years older.

They are trying to brainwash the fans in Milwaukee that if Yi is hiding his true age, then he is not alone and trying to compare Hakeem's age with his success.
